David Beckham extends contract?

UPDATE: A spokesman for David Beckham has told Reuters that he has not signed a two year contract extension as reported by Marca (and subsequently by the BBC, The Guardian and countless others) however discussions are planned. Reuters story here. So I guess we will be able to enjoy a few more, he will, he won't, he has, he hasn't, stories in coming months.

Real Madrid 0 - 0 Villareal

In not such good news, Real Madrid got off to a slow start to the season with a 0-0 draw at home to Villareal. A draw, whilst a whole lot better than a loss, really didin't reflect the first half performance Real Madrid put in and it was a shame that we were not able to convert a couple of good opportunities into a 1-0 victory. Still, there are positives to be taken from the match, we looked more solid in defence and Becks had a good game, producing two superb crosses, and pulling one clever ball back for Guti. It's early days yet, we will just have to wait a little longer for the first win of the season!

Hi Amie,

He hasn't signed as they still have things to negotiate but he probably will as anonymous said - nothing to worry about it, he will most likely be staying in Spain.

Miniminor - I feel your pain!
