Raul Bravo is being widely quoted as saying he could imagine Real without David Beckham, what the press doesn't make clear until you muscle your way past the headline and soldier on down into the depths of the story, is that he said he could imagine Real Madrid without Raul, Ronaldo and Beckham, because stars like Zidane and Figo had gone before and everyone adapts. What? People leave? He can imagine a world in which people join and leave the club? Shock horror, thank god someone reported this, cos that IS headline-worthy stuff. Pardon my sarcasm, I need more coffee. I'm very sarcy before the second cup. Raul bless'em did say he hopes Becks will stay because he's a great player. I always knew I liked that boy! Story here

Michael Owen when asked about David Beckham's ommission from the England squad, told Skysport

"I assure you that David is philosophical about it at the moment and he has had a fantastic England career.

"You never know, there might be more caps to come, but never mind whether he gets another cap or not nobody can take away what he's done for England."
