David Beckham interview in DT

david beckham

There is an interview with David Beckham in the December issue of the spanish magazine DT out this Friday. Here is an excerpt:

"For now I am happy playing football in Madrid, when I play. The United States thing is a possibility for the future," he said.

But the 31-year old former England captain made it clear that he is not satisfied with things as they are with the Spanish giants.

"At the end of the day I just think about playing games. Football is my passion and we all want to play, but you have to be patient and wait for the moment. In any case, I feel very well in Spain."
Full story available here and more quotes from the interview at realmadrid.com here

There's also a photo and update of Becks recovery from his injury on the Real Madrid official site if you haven't spotted it here. A story from Associated Press says he is expected to be available to play against Valencia, I hope that's the case! However other sources say he won't have recovered yet and he is still training separately from the team so... we'll have to wait and see.

I hope he can play and get some game time, cos he is missing playing now that Capello doesn't play him so much :(

I really doubt if he will really play again before the winter break. Well, perhaps the CL game agains Kiev (the last group stage game of RM, which is just a meanlingless game as regardless of the result, RM will finish second in the group. Capello will most probably just send the reserve players and youth team players for this game). He is still yet to train with the team and is highly unlikely to be available for the Valencia game (according to some internet reports and RM website). Capello will most probably use the Reyes/Robinho/Raul combination in the coming games pending the return of Guti. So, the result is still the same, i.e. no place for Beckham.

Just let's see what will happen in January.

Apologies to anonymous number 1 if I gave you false hope as I agree with Anonymous number 2 :) I have to say in light of todays news from Madrid that I don't think we'll see much of David Beckham playing for Real Madrid again. Even if he weren't injured, I don't think he would get more than a few minutes here and there tops. As I don't think board members even anonymous ones give such quotes to Sports Magazines and I don't think people like Sanz and Del Bosque get wheeled out for quotes, until things have reached a certain point. I don't think there are any if's or maybe's remaining, David Beckham is leaving Real Madrid. Hopefully, in January as it will be a long painful wait for the Summer, if not.

I think he's only chance of 90 mins are the Copa del Rey and the Last Champ League game except if an injury/suspension crisis comes.
