With papers reporting today that David Beckham is going to be returning to the English Premiere League and joining the MLS club LA Galaxy it is clear the only way for all the reports to be true is for poor Becks to be cloned! Unfortunately I don't think the science is quite there yet! Of the literally dozens of stories speculating about Becks future, I'll post just two - as believe me you do not want or need to read them all and these two reflect the kind of stories circulating :-)

Also much has been made of the fact that Sir Michael Caine has reportedly said that he thinks Becks is too young to be knighted, Story here. Now what Sir Michael Caine is overlooking is that a successful actor's career will last into their old age and these honors are usually bestowed when individuals are nearing the end of their career, for a professional sportsman such as David Beckham their career will not last into their 60's or 70's. Therefore the appropriate age to knight a sportsman and an actor are very different. I would suggest that as much as I like and respect Sir Michael that he should keep his nose well out of this, it is not his decision to make.

Finally Becks was part of the Pride of Britain Awards last night although he performed his role in Madrid when he told Ollie Cartwright that he was going to be the recipient of the Child of Courage Award story here. Photos on the Real Madrid site
