Fergie welcomes Becks!

Just a quick post! It was nice to see after a week in which the press tried to read a lot into something Sir Alex Ferguson didn't say, that they are now reporting his comments about David Beckham's planned return to Old Trafford for a charity match on March 13, here's an excerpt from what he did say, full story and more quotes here.

I think it's fantastic. I think he was a great player at this club and he never had a chance to say goodbye to the fans because the transfer was done during the summer. I think he will get a great welcome and deservedly so.
There are a few more pics in the DVD Captures Gallery from David Beckham: A footballers Story, unfortunately the resolution is a little...well to be specific...crap! Still, Becks looks gorgeous, just a little bit fuzzier than I would like!

Update: Although Becks was not playing this weekend's La Liga game because of suspension, Real Madrid won 1-0 through a Strike by Ruud to stay in touch with the top of the table. Match Report here.

WTF happend ?! Feruson drink something of a "be nice ro Becks xmas serum" ?

Usually the B word is banned by him at the training ground (Carrington) and in OT.

Non the less it's very extremly nice to see that at least he hasn't forgotten/ereased him completley out of his mind. btw Fergie also said he can't see him play for another english club than United aswell.

lol, yes he must have been drinking the Christmas spirits :)

I think saf might have made these comments because of all the stories they ran this week about him not naming Becks in his "world class list" but he didn't name a lot of worthy people and 2 of the 5 he mentioned I don't think deserved the compliment. I think the list was heavily influnced by emotional attachments and favoritism - but lets face it we've all known forever that SAF is a very emotional manager, and how he gets on with you is as important in how he rates you, as how you play. I didn't mention all of those stories in a post because the press singled out the fact he didn't mention Becks and made a big fuss - where were the headines to say he didn't name Van Nistel Rooy or Hughes or Robson... no where. Poor Becks, the papers are always so desperate to find some way to make the story about him, I don't like to dignify such stories with a link :)
