Ruud for Real - update 2

Can I get a woot? Just a quick post to say that Ruud Van Nistelrooy and David Beckham are team mates again! Ruud passed his medical and was presented at the Bernebeu yesterday. During his presentation to the press, he talked about how much he is looking forward to getting on the end of a few Beckham crosses this season!

"When David left Manchester United I was very sad both on a personal level and because of the way we connected on the pitch. They were wonderful times that I hope will now be repeated in Madrid".

Becks still recovering

David Beckham joined up with Real Madrid for pre-season training in Irdning Austria, yesterday but pulled up after 30 minutes of jogging, he was quoted by the website of the sports daily Marca as saying - "The World Cup injury is still bothering me. Tonight the doctors will take a look at me and I'll find out how long it will take to recover. We've got a long time for preseason work and it's better to start without feeling any pain. Today it hurt when I'd been running for a while and I told the doctor about it''

Unfortunately, it is estimated recovery may take at least another couple of weeks, which will rule Becks out of the game against DC United which we posted about earlier in the week.

Ruud for Real - update 1

Real Madrid are reporting that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ruud Van Nistelrooy with Manchester United and that he will undergo a medical on Friday morning before being formally presented on Friday evening at 17:00 GMT at the Bernebeu. However, Manchester United have made a statement, saying the deal is not agreed but that they have given permission for Ruud to have the medical while other details are still to be finalised. Nevertheless, it is looking very close now and hopefully it will go through as expected, because RVN must be sick of the way this has all dragged out and personally we would love to see him at RM! David Beckham Photos update

david beckham in speedos

Inspired by the pictures I posted a link to a couple of days ago from the Just Jared site. I have created a new Holidays Photo Album and added the fantabulous holiday snaps of David Beckham making speedo's sexy again... a note to all the men out there... just because they looked great on Becks doesn't mean they were meant for everyone, no offense but Speedo's should still be approached with caution by mere mortal males... oki dokes. I will be adding some more speedo shots from last Summer and a few of David Beckham's finer liaisons with Abercrombie and Fitch. I wasn't going to post stalkerazzi pics... what can I say Becks hotness has melted my resolve. I am but human after all! lol Anna

David Beckham's next match news

The injuries that forced David Beckham to limp from the field, during the World Cup quarter final against Portugal, cast a doubt over his participation in Real Madrid's Summer tour of the United States. So it is good news for Becks many US fans, that the Seattle Post are reporting this morning, that he is expected to play in the match against DC United at Qwest Field on August 9th. The article can be viewed here.

The minute I posted that the Beckhams had managed to avoid the papparazzi and the tabloids, the News of the World, one of the scuzziest tabloids around ran a story on The Beckhams including a lot of photos taken by the stalkerazzi - I won't put them on the site but the story is here.

Just Jared also have some incredibly fine photos of David Beckham looking very hot here. If you haven't seen them yet, they'll make your day :-)

David Beckham Fans Online update

david beckham world cup

We're still working away on the gallery, we've added some more World Cup 2006 photos and are also uploading pictures of Becks playing for Real Madrid. We will start working on the magazine shoots gallery after this as we have a lot of photos from spreads David Beckham has done in GQ and Details etc to add along with scans of Vanity Fair and Marie Claire.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy's transfer to Real which seemed a sure thing earlier in the week has stalled and he is expected to start training with Manchester United on Monday. Considering all the publicity about Ruud departing, I think it could be very difficult for SAF and RVN to work well together now, so I'm still hoping for an 11th hour compromise between Manchester United and Real Madrid over the transfer fee!

It has been very quiet on the David Beckham front for the last couple of weeks and I am actually really pleased about that! David Beckham is on holiday with his family in Marbella. The Beckhams are reportedly staying on John Magnier's private estate and the grounds are surrounded by 3 Meter high walls, perfect for keeping the papparazzi at bay and providing a welcome break from prying eyes. I hope the Beckhams are having a lovely relaxing, peaceful break and that they can enjoy a few days to themselves away from the pages of the tabloids! As a fan I do like to watch Becks play and to hear about him, but I also think he should be entitled to some privacy and a holiday just like you and me! -- Anna

Ruud for Real?

It has been widely reported that Ruud Van Nistelrooy has requested a transfer from Manchester United and that front runners to sign him are Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. It will be interesting to see what the outcome will be because in the past Becks and Van the Man were an incredible duo for United. Ruud is a brilliant finisher and Becks is a brilliant supplier, could a re-union be in the cards? I certainly would like to see that! For more on this in English check the BBC and in Spanish As.com 'As' also have been running a poll on their front page asking if David Beckham's contract should be extended - the results after more than 1000 votes show 65% of voters are for an extension.

Finally, Reuters have reported that David and his corporate partners are looking for a site for a third David Beckham Academy in Asia. You can view the story here

P.S I have been a bit slow with uploading the photos for the gallery, I have more than 1000 still to add and it has taken me a while to sort through them but I'll be trying to get the bulk of them online this week! Hope you have a great weekend -- Anna

Capello backs Becks

After what must have been a very tough week for David Beckham, things seem to be taking a turn for the better. The newly appointed Manager at Real Madrid, Juventus' Capello has indicated Becks has a bright future at Real Madrid and was quoted in The Sun and on Skysport as saying
"I thought Beckham had a good World Cup and it was unfortunate what happened to England," Capello told The Sun.

"It was a pity he got injured and it's understandable that he was hurt by what happened afterwards.

"But Beckham is still a great player. I'm looking forward to working with him - he's an important player for Real Madrid."

These comments came shortly after the Daily wail - I mean Mail, put out a speculative piece, suggesting that David Beckham had held talks with the Toon chairman, fat Freddy. Both Freddy and Becks have refuted 'the red top' rumor.

In other news, Becks was voted the hottest hunk at the World Cup by Hello Magazine - well, like, totally of course! David Beckham puts the beautiful in beautiful game.

P.S Check out the Ecards I've set up! They're the perfect way to brighten someones day.

David Beckham resigns as captain

Well after watching the quarter-final against Portugal we were feeling very sad for Becks and the lads. It was a cruel way for things to end made worse by the fact that David Beckham has picked up an injury and had to watch in total frustration as England's world cup campaign ended. We just wanted to post a note up to say that we think England did well to get to the last 8 and that we know the players did there best and can hold there heads up. We're just sorry it has to end this way and with such heartbreak for David Beckham and the rest of the squad. We really don't think Rooney should have been sent off as he stepped backward when stamping on the Portugese player and it was obvious it was not intentional. Still football is not always fair and marginal and outright wrong calls get made everyday and sadly there can be no replay or re-writing of the outcome.

We are sadder still now to hear that David Beckham has stepped down from his post as England Captain. It was clear every time Beckham pulled on the shirt for England that he was a true patriot, who played with all his heart for his country. He will be sadly missed as captain, he truly embodied the lion-heart spirit, trying desperately to single-handedly carry England to success, through sheer will power as his goal against Ecuador showed. I will post more about all of this when the site is completed but for now I just wanted to post a sincere thank you to Becks for doing the country proud and for being a sports man of special character.
