Bill Nighy who starred in Pirates of The Carribean 2: Dead Mans Chest and also appeared in Love Actually (he was the aging rocker who has the Christmas number one song) had the following to say about David Beckham

Crystal Palace are his [Bill Nighy's] team, and he also adores watching David Beckham. Nighy laments the loss of Beckham as England captain. “I found it mysterious that he should be singled out, presumably because of a disappointing campaign, when I thought – unless I’m going crazy – that he had done as much as anyone involved to get us there. I think he’s a wonderful athlete. A brilliant footballer. An exemplary man and a great ambassador for England and for the game. He’s given me so much pleasure, David Beckham. I admire him tremendously

Elsewhere, the ABC are reporting that Real Madrid are looking at making major changes to their first team squad with 16 players expected to be sold or allowed to come off contract in the next six months details here. They have included David Beckham on the list, however this is in direct contradiction to other news reports which have indicated that Real Madrid wish to keep David Beckham and have offered him a new contract.

Rumors of Becks going to the States continue to circulate with the Sunday People reporting that the LA Galaxy are hinting they will sign him, last weekend they reported that he would be targetted by the consortium buying Liverpool. Next Sunday they will be reporting that he is going to captain the first intergalactic team and will be moving to Mars. It will be interesting to see how much game time David Beckham gets today, the preview on El Pais seems to suggest that he will not start and if that is the case then it may have an influence on his decision? Then again it may not.
