Capello won't play Becks again

Capello has revealed that David beckham will be allowed to train with the team but will not get to play again for Real Madrid. Full story. This is sad news, but under the circumstances it was not a complete surprise and is about what we have come to expect from Capello. Despite the comments that have come from the club about the decision not to renew David Beckham's contract being "mutual", Real Madrid must still be unhappy that David Beckham will leave the club on a free transfer and some form of retaliation was always possible. David Beckham is a consumate professional who would give 110% to the club and for his team-mates, that is irrefutable.

Given this unfortunate and somewhat spiteful turn of events, it might be best for Becks if some arrangement can be made to facilitate an early departure. Becks is scheduled to play a charity match in March at Old Trafford but he will be wanting and needing more game time than that over the next five months!

Update Reports are coming in that David Beckham's new club LA Galaxy will try to bring forward his move to the US in light of this announcement from Capello and Real Madrid. Details here.

Simon Oliveira, David Beckham's representative has told Reuters
As far as David is aware he has a contract for the remainder of the season and he remains dedicated to the club and the supporters.

David is surprised at the quotes from Capello as no-one from the club has informed him of this intention. He will continue to give his full commitment in a professional manner to the club.
It is beyond shabby that Capello has made this announcement without even speaking with David Beckham. Someone within the club needs to remind Capello that this kind of behaviour does not reflect well on Real Madrid.

Todays training report and photos are now online

In bittersweet news, details have emerged of an offer from AC Milan to David Beckham. The club believes they were close to signing him, prior to his final decision to go to LA. All we can hope is that Becks has made the right choice. Story here.

wow what a disaster news!! I was so looking forward to watch him play in europe for the last time and
I bet he was too. What would suck even more is if RM draws MANU at some stage in CL and becks doesnt get a chance to play

Capello is a petty little man, I hope this comes back to haunt it, if there are many more injuries, he could end up looking like the stupid spiteful little man he is.

I am not surprised at all by this. I actually expected Capello would do this. His mistake. I hope LA Galaxy brings him over for the start of the season.

Capello's announcement was definitely rude and disrespectful. This kind of deal should be kept between the Club and the player. However, I think the fact that Beckham announced his new club that early really embarrased RM. It is still just in the middle of the season and everyone is starting to talk about his new club! I think it somehow causes some confusion over his identity. As he planned to join the new club in August, why didn't he announce it later, preferrably after the end of this season?

Well eitherway the horrible time in Madrid is coming to an end thankfully :)

Either he'll get some holidays till April (MLS Start) or he gets loaned out to another club till the summer and joins LA Galaxy as planed in July, who knows.
