David Beckham puts family first

David Beckham was recently interviewed by the spanish magazine Futbolista. You can read some of his comments in english as they have been reported in The Sun. He discussed his future at Real Madrid and said
“That is something very difficult to say but what I know clearly is that my family and I are very happy in Madrid and at Real Madrid.

“For me, more important than football, my concern is the happiness of my family.”
Reuters also have an indepth article on David Beckham's options online here. The Sun article suggests that David Beckham will almost certainly stay at Real Madrid, the Reuters article suggests he will almost certainly leave by next summer. What do you think?

lol hi Ben :) I can understand his first priority is his family! He's a very good husband and father but the boys are still young, only Brooklyn is of proper school age and Victoria could follow up "that extra half-inch" with a guide to the world's airports :) With her fashion interests and her regular family visits to the UK she is on "on the go" a lot! I am sure Madrid is a lovely place to live, I have visited Madrid and thought it was nice as was Spain but I've also been to Italy and to other parts of Europe as well as to the US and I am sure there are other places the Beckham's could enjoy calling home. Of course moving is always unsettling, I think it makes sense that Becks is in no hurry - but that said, I don't think his comment that his families happiness is the most important thing to him can actually be interpreted as "pass me the contract and let me sign" as to be blunt, I think if he was thinking that - then the ink would already be dry. I think The Sun has taken his comments as an indication that he'll stay but they don't necessarily make it a done deal, he may yet decide that the best thing for the family is for him to leave. After all at this point in the season and in negotiations, there are a lot of limits on what he can actually say in the media. So I still think there will be many more "he'll stay" and "he'll go", stories to come :)

I hope he stays at Real Madrid, because he can prove his worth to Capello and get back into the England team and prove all the people who put him down, wrong!!
