Deportivo 2 - 0 Real Madrid
Well that was a fugly game. Becks came on for Guti when he injured his ankle around the eleven minute mark and was responsible for the few times Real Madrid looked a little dangerous, details here, but it was a poor game overall. Official Match report and Photos online here.

Not the Start I hoped for literally...
He would have gotten some odd 10+ mins in the 2nd half had Mr Untouchable 2 not been injuried...
Too bad he could't turn the game (of corse it's difficult all alone)
but at least he had appearently the foot in 3 of their best chances. a freekick, a corner from which Ramos missed and the "set up" of Emersons shot against the bar.
On the other hand - maybe they still playing like 11 egoists mainly makes him leave and not sign a new contract...

Hi Ben :) Good to see you! Yes I am feeling the same way. I know he loves his family and I love how he loves his family, it's admirable, but I have to say I am not very enthusiastic about him renewing - there are these new signings now and Gago started and Becks did not. If Gago is like winning the lottery... er I saw no sign of that myself. I just feel Becks should feature more in Capello's thinking but his mind is so closed. There is a saying here "It's like playing your guitar in front of a cow" and right now I feel like, no matter what Becks does as far as Capello is concerned he might as well be playing his guitar in front of a cow. Well, we will just have to wait and see.
