Olive Branch?

Real Madrid, Sporting Director, Mijatovic has given an interview to AS.com. After he gets in the usual (yawn!) and obligatory (someone wake me up when he shuts up!) digs at Becks about his "betrayal" (why does he sound more like an ex-girlfriend than a sporting director?) he does make some comments suggesting that the club might at last be prepared to take a fairer approach to their dealing with Becks, "to reach a solution". I hope so. He also told As there is a possibility that Becks could play against Bayern Munich but added that it was up to Capello. Story here. Hands up if you're just sick to death of reading new quotes from Real Madrid about David Beckham every day!

In the same issue of As Sergio Ramos spoke well of Ronaldo and Beckham saying that they are unique players whom he values as team mates.

Becks was back in training today and I've added a few pics to the gallery Good to know the muscle strain must have been minor.

Update Coverage of Mijatovic's comments can also be seen in The Sun and The Times.

it's really getting annoying. I mean if the talk all that stuff keep it in house ffs.

no matter how many statements they do, they do remain CLASS-LESS.

I'm glad Becks is better. With Real Madrid having to back down maybe he can play this week? I am way totally sick of Real Madrid too! :(

It's incredible that after Raul devoted a whole press conference on Friday to the fact that all were agreed to handle matters in house, and Calderon apologized "a thousand times" for public insults, here this nitwit immediately goes public with some of the same statements the thousand apologies covered. Maybe they have their memories regularly erased and just keep starting over...hideously.
PLUS, he says they were angry because both parties agreed not to extend the contract and then Beckham announced his new deal an hour later (and no it's not possible that they weren't informed before the announcement). IT'S JANUARY, did they expect him not to have at LEAST one other deal pending in case this one didn't work out? Did they really think he wouldn't have other offers and go work in an office in June?! I may have to turn off my computer completely and assign someone to tell me what "solution is reached." Our boy must either be a buddhist or be getting ALOT of support from his teammates.
p.s. to Anna--should that count as first "note"? :)

(Anna, it's ok, I sent you a small book this a.m.)
Re Mijatovic, this man is such a magnificent revisionist that I expect any day now he will be ready to claim that no one in all of Spain has seen ever heard of David Beckham: http://www.soccer365.com/EUROPEAN_NEWS/

lol too true and Calderon has been busy too with his declarations about how profitable the club will be hitting headlines too. It makes me laugh - because from day one from the nasty article that appeared in Don Balon through to the events of the last week it has all been of a piece - the club trying to guard against any accusation of financial mismanagement for having David Beckham leave on a free. Money and politics what a nasty grubby combo!
