Salgado speaks out
Yesterday David Beckham's team mate Salgado gave a Press conference transcript here and publicly added his voice to Raul's and other Real Madrid Players who have called for common sense and fairness to be shown by the club. He said -
Q:In the case of Beckham, Ronaldo and Cassano, are you in agreement with what Raul said?Today his comments were picked up by a columnist on AS who said amongst other things, that when Salgado talks all must shut up and listen. Let's hope he is right.
Answer: I share his opinion. They are Real Madrid players and they can help us win titles. I don't think it's good for the squad to leave three or four players out before the end of the season.
Ivan Helguera has also been quoted in an interview with Radio Marca as saying -
It is necessary to be true and respectful with the people who try to give everything, especially at a club of the greatness of Real MadridIt is more than ironic to witness first hand the players described by Calderon as "lacking education and culture" acting with both and in doing so helping to protect the name of a great club from its charlatan administration.
Also there was a quote in the National Obssession which I'd somehow missed shame on me, Man U fan that I am, from Ryan Giggs, wishing Becks well -
"I wish him good luck," the Welshman said. "It's an exciting thing for him to do, and his family as well, and I'm sure he'll be a big success.
"It's something different and a very exciting thing to do at this stage of his career.
"I think he's proved himself in the Premiership and he's done well in Madrid as well and he fancied something different and going to America is certainly that."
