Becks left out of squad
David Beckham has been excluded from the squad named for the match against Levante at the Bernabeu tomorrow. Both Becks and Cassano were omitted for "technical reasons". Becks did train today and now that the "veil of injury" has been lifted the situation at Real Madrid and Capello's intentions are clear. Where is the "back tracking" and the "softening of stance" that the media has reported en-masse? It is no where to be seen. Actions speak louder than words. Still, to express surprise would be false, as my expectations of Calderon, Mijatovic and Capello are so low now that there is nothing they could do, no matter how unjust, that would seem anything other than predictable.Capello did not mention David Beckham or give any explanation regarding his omission in today's press conference. However, he did say in response to another matter "I like people who say things to your face". Ah the irony. Mr Capello likes people who say what they have to say to your face and yet when he announced that he would never pick David Beckham to play for Real Madrid again, did he say it to David Beckham's face? No. He said it to the media. Mr Capello, your hypocrisy is showing.
Today's training write-up and pictures are online at the Real Madrid site.

Poor Becks, it seems we will not see him at the Bernabeu again :(
I hope Capello is sacked.

Beckham trained well and is fit, fitter than some called-up, so we must accept that he will not play again for Real Madrid as Capello does not even speak of him at todays press conference. Beckham is to be ignored until the contract is expired, Capello meant what he said when he said he would not pick him again.

I guess that's pretty clear because
Nieto, who is playing a youth team match today, is being called up for such a critical first team match tomorrow, on no rest!
I am so disgusted by this whole situation, and by the whole issue of coaching decisions made according to grudges that seems so common in football. I feel like I am in grade school!
I know that I have continued to be hopeful too often regarding David Beckham's situation just because I can't believe that adults who have a job to do would threaten its success for an absurd need for vengence. Where is the pride in that? I had at least given up hoping that the Madrid gang would start treating players as human beings--Beckham as well as others. I guess that makes me only half naive.
It looks like all there is left to hope for is that Beckham will be able to train with the rest of the team so that he retains some level of match-fitness.
Sorry for the lengthy rant...

Well, this time, Capello/RM did not even bother to find an "excuse"..........it's pretty sure that in no way Beckham will play for RM again........just hope that he can retain his fitness and show his good form when he turn up for Galaxy in Summer.

I somehow get the feeling that RM is trying to "erase" the memory of Beckham from others by freezing him out. "Out of sight, out of mind". They are not even willing to give him any recognition on his conribution to the Club, both on or off the pitch.

Well we and Becks have to live with these not understandable antics by RM.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind - seems to be the thing - as somebody wrote already.
Thankfully Becks should play at least 1 game (march 13 manutd-uefa XI @ old trafford) in a month...
I'm surely not the only one who wishes all evil things to RM...
nothing against the youngsters and their chances - it's not their fault.
I do really hope tough that RM will have plenty of banned, injuried players and have eventually have to call back on the expirience and class of Becks.
How sweet would that turn out to be...
Nice Weekend everyone. Keep your Head up. In the very worst case it's 147 days RM left.
ps: would be a nice thing to have on the website such a countdown ;)

If he only gets to work out separately and isn't permitted to take part in practice scrimmages for 5 months, that's really out of shape. He's talked about match fitness only coming from playing in live matches. It would be a shame not to see him at his best for his "send off" at Old Trattford in March, to say nothing of MLS expecting him to hit the ground running when he arrives in U.S.
It does seem that RM are trying to erase any memory of David Beckham. My goodness are they bitter! Aside from financial issues etc, they really hate to look wrong--never seen anything like it.

It is no surprise as you said, Capello does not change his mind, many players have had problems with him and once he is against you, he is against you full stop.
7:47 PM
i know...I never seen anything like it either....other players and managers have never seen like it as well and they are voicing things out. But it seems Real Madrid do not listen to the opinion of their own peers. Sigh, boy am I glad Beckham would get to play at Old Trattford this March at least. And I do not believe Capello's story about Guti walking out --- that the 'players were just kidding amongst themselves'

Actually, Capello has done things just like this before in Italy. Also some of you seems shocked but think... Capello said he would not pick him and b4 Capello would hardly pick him and only gave him minutes or started him only in the unimportant games b4 the LA move was even said. Becks has been out of favor for months ya know...
