David Beckham Backgrounds

David Beckham Instinct I have been updating the PC backgrounds in the wallpaper gallery. I have added some very basic backgrounds using the new David Beckham Instinct Ad. I'm sure many of you will be able to create something far more artistic for yourself! I have also added the Body by Milk, Disney and Motorola ones - which I've been meaning to add for ages! Speaking of things I've been meaning to do I have also added a few screen shots from the Predator v F50 Adidas campaign to the photo gallery.

A few weeks ago there were rumors circulating that Fox had approached the Beckhams about doing a reality TV show, Living with The Beckhams. There are further rumors in this week's National Inquirer but there still hasn't been definite confirmation of a show, details here.

There have been some further recruits for the UEFA XI that will play Manchester United in the March 13 charity match. David Beckham, Steven Gerard and Jamie Carragher will be joined on the team sheet by Eric Abidal, Grégory Coupet and Juninho Pernambucano from Olympique Lyonnais, details here.

David Beckham is, as expected, in the Real Madrid squad list to face Betis tomorrow. Although of course it is only a week since we were not so certain of his inclusion, so I still feel a happy sense of continued relief to see his name on the list :)

Today's training write up and photo (of Becks looking like he's in good spirits) are online at the official site.

Fabio Capello was asked if he thought David Beckham could return to play for England, during today's press conference and he replied that he hoped he could, because David Beckham is a consumate professional. He said it was obviously up to the England Manager but that Beckham could make a positive contribution. He also said that Becks return for Real Madrid had a positive effect because of the way he played and the enthusiasm and dedication he always displayed. Update - a better tanslation is now available online here.

Finally, let's finish with a nice quote (Source) from Iker Casillas who is also on the "people we love list", he said of Becks -
He is a great professional and the boss has realised that he is a very important and influential player for the team

He is an example to many people. He was always respectful and polite despite the difficult situation in which he found himself.
One last thing, there is a really cute marcatoon today, there have been a lot with Becks but as they are in spanish they're not always easy to follow but I think todays transcends the language barrier click here.

Have a great weekend!

when I read Eric - I already thought Eric Cantona...

Still, good players. I'm really looking forward to it.

I do hope aswell there won't be a reality show about and with them. (at least until his football career is over)

I agree with Ben --- no to reality TV. And let me just say I love Iker Casillas I think he is a sincere person. Love the picture of the pile up in training :)

Agree they must say no to show!!!!
At least in the rest of the world they were both known for their professional accomplishments (one more than the other obviously, but still...) before the media started using them for target practice. A reality TV show here would either introduce them as a joke or confirm it to those who have been reading the wrong things before they arrive. This is where one worries about Simon Fuller.
Maybe a write in campaign from fans? On the other hand JLo and Tom Cruise know the pitfalls of the wrong kind of publicity as well as anyone, so hopefully they're advising the Beckhams on something more than scientology.
There are so many non-trash, actually good interview or even day-in-the-life shows on TV here and all have already been clamering for time with the Beckhams. Still possible the reality show is just a rumor.

LOVING all the good news these days! Lots of smiles all around. Thanks once more Anna. I agree with Marie about Casillas-a sweetie!

p.s. Note that FOX, the network connected with possible TV show, is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Upside-they broadcast football/soccer, downside-everything else.

Posh 'n' Becks did a reality TV show about the world cup bash they threw and there was a show called Being Victoria Beckham (yawn) and another thing called the Real Beckhams?!? I think... it was done when they first went to Madrid. NEway they were all okay, they didn't do any harm, there were some perts with Becks that were good... so it might just be something similar.

True, I actually liked some of those. The Real Beckhams (move to Madrid) had some really funny parts. There's one from the ManU days when Brooklyn was little, that's called The Real David Beckham, which is my favorite because you really get to see Becks and hear from those he's closest to (Gary Neville etc). I also like the later ITV documentary in Spain for the same reason. Don't remember who the reporter was that did that but I thought is was a really good job.
But those are all documentaries, interviews, invited to specific occasions, etc. Same with the World Cup thing, additionally filmed to raise extra cash for charity.
On the other hand the "Living With..." shows are weekly series alleged to be filming inside the people's day to day lives in real time. They really look for dirty laundry and strife to make the shows interesting, and get laughs by making the subjects look dumb. The Osbornes did one (I think it aired in the UK) which they managed to turn more to their own advantage but still caused problems for their kids, and Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson got divorced after doing one for two seasons. That type is too intrusive and finds anything negative (even if they have to edit it in). Ouch.
Hoping they go for something more as you describe.
By the way, any relation to a television "ant" yourself? Like that show alot--especially the little guys!

***Hope a few of you who get RM games will stay on-line again tomorrow night. It was great to have your color commentary during the last match. Those gamecasts are nerve-wracking to read.

As always, wishing for a great match and no injuries!!!
