I thought that David was the best player on the pitch during the first half of the match.
I try to block the noise out during a game but there was one point during the opening 45 minutes when he had several great moments and then prepared to take a free-kick.
As he stood over the ball I suddenly heard this wall of sound chanting "Beckham, Beckham, Beckham".
Even though he was a member of the opposition I was pleased for him.

We can't help but love Owen Hargreaves :) and Mclaren cannnot ignore Beckham now.
CNN reports that it is like a rebirth of sorts for David Beckham since he is playing so well. I can't help but wonder that within just a few short weeks Beckham has gone from one of the darkest moment of his career to may be towards the brightest (helping England win the Euro 2008)

Hi Marie,
I wonder too, but then I realize its only a rebirth to CNN and to all the other English speaking media who hadn't really watched him play at Real Madrid, or followed the Spanish press for the past three years, and then woke up to pay attention when Becks was dropped from England--just in time to report on him "sitting on the bench" at Madrid.
I think many Becks-bashers (press, football fans, pundits) are waking up to realize that they have been targeting someone who was so good for the game in every way, and who still has so much to offer--and who they are now losing of course.
SO glad he is once again getting the appreciation he deserves. And I very much hope you are right, that it will lead to a successful two more years with England!! Fun.

I agree with the person who said Citibank would be a better sponsor as Herbalife is a MLM and citibank would just be much better for a professional image! $49 mill is pretty good money. Thanks for the video, it's cool to see David playing so well!
