Pavon praises Becks

David Beckham's Real Madrid team-mates continue their unified support with Pavon the latest to express his hope that David Beckham might be included in Capello's plans. Pavon told a press conference (translation via google) that David Beckham's attitude is exemplary and that he is a professional that gives everything for the club. Goal 2! Living the Dream

Fans in the UK and Northern Ireland will be able to see Goal! 2 from tomorrow, lucky things! You also have a chance to win an XBox360 and FIFA 2007 from the movie company click here to enter and just in case you're not sure, Jaume Collet-Serra directed the movie.

You can read an interview with the film makers and lead actors online here. The script-writer Mike Jefferies had some interesting comments about the plans for Goal! 3 and said some very nice things about David Beckham -
David was amazing. He had a small cameo in Goal 1 and in Goal 2 – without giving too much away – he’s featured very extensively. I think the entire crew and cast owe him an enormous debt for bringing such a degree of authenticity. And as Steve says coming back to the stadium in the wee hours in the freezing cold and enthusiastically doing take after take. And allowing us to represent football in such an authentic way because he was so involved. We’re very grateful to him.
You can check out a review of the film here, although do we really care what moviebuffs think of this film? Let's just say there review criteria and ours might be different! Finally, the publicity material for the movie includes the following film fact and quote from Becks
Don't expect David Beckham to follow his cameo role in Goal! 2 with a full-scale Hollywood career. "I'm not an actor, I've never wanted to act and never probably will act," says the former England captain. "But to do something like this in a football movie, I think it's special."
I think it's special too or at least I will do once I can see it on DVD :)

Just in case you missed it when I posted it two weeks ago here's a link to the official site again, it has the movie-trailer and downloads.
