The David Beckham Academy announced today that it is joining forces with Findus Mega 03 to help promote healthy lifestyles in children and adults. The press release said "Findus and David Beckham Academy share a common interest - both are striving to improve the nation's nutritional knowledge. Findus Mega 03 is a supplement that's taken as an easy-to swallow capsule. It's is designed to improve a balanced nutritional diet."

It is available on-line through the website www.megaO3.com, which is also running a contest to win a trip to the David Beckham Academy.

David Beckham was quoted in the press release as saying -
"As a young boy I attended the Bobby Charlton Soccer School with dreams of becoming a professional footballer.

The experience changed my life, as I learnt from the best coaches and got to meet football heroes such as Bobby Charlton.

But sports science has moved on so much since my early experiences and at The David Beckham Academy we know that teaching children to become more active means more than just drilling them on technical skills.

To maintain fitness throughout life, whether you are an athlete or not, you need to consider a balanced diet, which is why MEGAO3 Omega-3 is a good fit for what we teach at the Academy".

thanks for the contest info. It sounds great. I have always wanted to go to David Beckham's acadamy to improve my soccer skills, so it really sucks that I can't enter it. But thanks for the info anyways it is a great chance for those who have great soccer skills but no money.

The contest is open to everyone. The info is there.
You have a chance to attend the Academy free of charge under The National Schools Programme - if you live in the UK - and the cost for the After Schools Programme is minimal. It is all there on the website.

Now that David is moving to the US, I am sure some of these low cost/free programmes will become available as the move is not just about his playing career but working with kids up to the age of 15 at the grassroots level.
In the US,the 7-23 Club offers a sessions at $25.

I would just like to add that the school David attended, Bobby Charlton Soccer School is not free. I am sure David's parents had to pay. I do not know how much but David is from a working class background but he had talent and the will to develop his skills.....If you really want something you can achieve it and he also won the soccer skills competition and went on to live his dream. You do not need a lot of money to achieve your goals and ambition.......just hard work and determination with the talent you have got.

It's not the money that prevents me from doing it; i mean if it was the money I'm pretty sure I could some how get the money to do it. It is just that I don't have any way of recording what I do. Also, don't have where to record it, how wouldn't be able to go to the Acadamy because I live in the U.S.A, and there is so much more that prevents me from doing it, since it is in the UK.
