The David Beckham Academy
There is an interesting article in this morning's Independent that talks in detail about David Beckham's Academy in London, it also mentions that David Beckham will be there next Monday, March 19th, to launch stage two of its programme - the School Zone, a free, online education resource for teachers and students that builds on what is being delivered in Greenwich. It sounds really interesting as it will make the Academy "virtually" accessible to a much wider audience. For more details you can check out The Academy's website. The Los Angeles Academy will also be offerring courses from the end of this month and you can find details via the same site!

Also, although it's not great quality You Tube have a clip of David Beckham emerging from the players tunnel and being interviewed briefly before giving his speech at Old Trafford on Tuesday night

Thanks. The Academies mean so much to Becks and they will be a major part of his life especially now that he is moving to the US and getting closer to the end of his playing career. (I know he still has many years left but.....)
He has plans to open another one in Asia this year.
Looking forward to next Monday.

My goodness, the academy article got me as misty-eyed as the ManU reception, and about as proud.
If Becks' philosophy regarding, and treatment of, kids isn't indisputable evidence of the heart and mind we have always seen, nothing will ever satisfy those who have doubted those traits.

mel i got becks autograph by waiting for him at the Real Madrid training place where the players drive in. He was soooo nice and didn't seem to mind so go and try nothing to lose and if he does walk or drive past where you are and you are polite he will sign something cos he is a real sweetie!!!

anonymous, did you really get his autograph? I wish I could at least get one of his jerseys or at least see him from far away and take a picture.
