David Beckham in Vogue
As previously posted there is an article about David Beckham's style in the April edition of French Vogue. There aren't any new photos with it but they have used some very nice ones. A big thanks to the kind Becks fan who has shared their scans with us. They are in the gallery.
'Sack Mac and bring Beckham back'
Last night England played Andorra in the second of this week's Euro 2008 qualifiers. Andorra has a total population that could fit into Old Trafford with seats to spare .It's football team boasts only one full-time professional.England ran out winners 3-0 but this was a poor result against a side ranked 163rd in the world. It took 53 minutes for England to open the scoring and the 16,000 England fans who had travelled to the game used most of them to 'express' their unhappiness with the England team and most especially its Manager. The chants included "Only one David Beckham" and supporters held up banners such as "Sack Mac and bring Beckham back".
Although a win was salvaged there were still chants of "We still want McClaren out" at the end. If McClaren took a step towards the exit door on Saturday after the bore draw against Israel it would be fair to say that he took several strides towards it last night. You can read further details in The Sun online here. Coverage in The Mirror, The Times and in The Scotsman.

There should be a friendly against Brazil at the end of May. With the tide against McClaren, I think if Becks is fit he could be recalled and that would be an indication of him featuring in the qualifying game against Estonia in early June.

With the relatively poor performances, Englands's chances of qualifying for Euro 2008 might be in jeopardy but the good thing for me, as a Becks fan, is that Becks' legacy and all the great things he has done for England as Captain is being preserved and recognised.
Hope he will be able to get a few more caps, which is his wish.

I really hope that can happen but I admit that I still don't trust McClaren, even now, to do the right thing. I think he may be even less willing to admit he was wrong and Becks has been missed now that his back is to the wall. Which I guess is why I am looking at this from the perspective of how likely is he to be sacked. As Becks chances of a recall increase 100% if he ceases to be England Manager. Still, I'll keep hoping that Becks can be recalled either way, as you say :)

They always say "you don't know what you've got till its gone" and the England fans are suffering from a big case of that. Becks was sent packing with a cheery "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out" from a good proportion of the supporters. Now they realize, oops you need to do a bit more than run fast you have to have an end product. They ignored it in the past but now can see how often he was the difference for England.
The press will never in a million years admit it, after they chewed through several forests on the topic, but clearly Sven wasn't favoring him he was just the best option for England and Sven actually had the backbone to keep selecting the team on merit no matter how much he was criticized for it. Yes, hell will freeze over before the press admits that.
McClaren can't be axed soon enough for me. I'll have a beer to celebrate when that happens.

The irony is, England's opponents realized the importance of Beckham whilst England's own coach downplay his significance and thats the problem---the opponents know that they don't have to worry too much on free kicks and pin point crosses from the England squad and they are able to attack more freely and capitalize on the fact that Beckham is gone from the team. And I agree with you Syd, the press maligned Sven for choosing Beckham when in fact he was making the right choice.
