David Beckham tips a treble
David Beckham was interviewed on MUTV last night and tipped Manchester United to repeat their treble success of 1999 in the current season. He was also generous in his praise of Sir Alex Ferguson. The interview was part of the build up to next Tuesday's charity gala match which Becks will attend. You can read his comments online here. The soap opera that is Real Madrid continues, with Roberto Carlos advising the press last night that he will not renew his contract and will leave the club on the same day as David Beckham (details are at Marca.com). He told reporters that he would contune to play football but he has no plans as yet. He'll be missed.
Real Madrid remain alive in one competition and it would be something special for the many friends who will part ways at the end of this season to do so on a high. So let's all hope for a win on Saturday! They are due some good fortune, surely!
The papers are reporting this morning that David Beckham's MLS debut is now expected to be against Chelsea on July 21 rather than in Toronto in August... time will tell, details here.

I feel the same way...:(
Plus, I'm sure I share the opinion with at least all of Becks' fans that this one-man scapegoating for team losses is a terrible aspect of the sport. How about the loss to Bayern-Munich beginning with the team being pulled so far back on defense in the second half of the first leg that Munich was kept dangerously close to the Madrid net and scored its harmful second goal while Roberto Carlos was not even on the pitch. And do we villify each player that carelessly gave the ball away after Roberto Carlos' early error? Or name each player that missed one of the many scoring chances? RM loses another great player, a great guy, and his press statement was really classy.

I think is what happens when frustrations is too much. Is not his fault but everyone looking looking for reasonbs becos Madrid is not doing well for so long as no one at the club is knows what to do but I think they need to stop always make people go away becos they go and go and go and go and change and change and change and we still no win.

I agree perfectly. They have needed belief and hope from the bosses, I think, as well as more stability. I always wish the best for the players. They should not have to look so sad.
