Becks will be at Old Trafford
David Beckham has confirmed that he will, as anticipated, attend the charity gala match next week at Old Trafford. Obviously, it would have been better if he could have played March 13, but as he is injured Becks will be announced on to the pitch before the game in a special ceremony — so he can acknowledge the club and the fans. Full story here. So if you have bought tickets you will still get a chance to see him there!
More from Adidas
Adidas have put the behind the scenes key-art online, click here to view the high res full size pics, most of the files are almost 1Mb in size so they may take a second to open. They have also put the Outdoor Campaign Art that will be used on Billboards for the Impossible is Nothing Ad online click here to view the Ad, you then have the choice of downloading higher res, larger versions if you like, the largest version is approx 1.25Mb. Thought I'd mention that in case anyone is still on dial up.Good luck to the team tonight in Munich! I hope they have a great game and can make it through to the quarter finals. Hala Madrid!!

does anyone know why theres something wrong with the pictures?
3:57 AM
Hi there - Can you be more specific which pictures and what seems to be the problem? and I'll try and work out if I can fix :)

I didn't ask this after Sunday's game because EVERYTHING else was more important and I am set on positive energy. But looking at the match pictures here again, the question came back to me: is it possible that Becks and Roberto Carlos had an argument during the match? And I think Robinho may have been making peace? I didn't see the game so was curious about what was going on in those photos. I've always liked it that Becks and Roberto Carlos have been so protective of each other--to say nothing of adorable--and hope that I got a completely inaccurate impression! If anyone remembers the moment, please let me know.
Thanks.

When i click on the gallery i cant see any of the pictures and i just want to see the ones you added about David and the thing ADIDAS

I'm sorry to say they all work - the main photo gallery is working fine and their are some adidas pictures under advertising but the really big ones I added this morning, when you click on the link it opens a separate page and when you click on the thumbnails the pictures open - I know because I just tested it and it works nicely with javascript but if your computer doesn't have javascript they still open, so you don't need anything special to make them work - hmmm all I can suggest is you try again and remember the pics are big and they take a while if you don't have a great connection but a few other people beside me have already opened the pics so I know the gallery is ok, sorry must be something with your PC :(

Hi Diane,
I think Becks wanted to take the free kick but Roberto was captain and he took it and kicked it straight into the bottom of the wall (I think he should have actually let Becks take it). No big friendship breaker, it comes up a bit between them :)
7:21 AM
Thanks, Anna, that certainly makes sense. I'm relieved it was a fleeting moment. Friends are critical at times like these!
The Adidas pix opened here fine.

Well we're never going to see Becks play Champions League again. I'm gutted :(
11:19 PM
Yep, I'm disappointed for him and for RM too, I think that first goal really knocked the breath out of the whole team, they'd barely gotten into "game mode" and they were reeling... unlucky :(
I'm glad he's going to OT tho, it won't be the same but it will still be great for him to say good-bye.
2:22 AM
I was thinking about him at home watching:(( ...must have been extra tough with the midfield so dazed and confused in first half...it does hurt my heart...but as they say...it is what it is. We can only look forward and, especially with Becks, you never know what the future may bring! As always wishing for the best...
4:12 AM
yeah, my heart broke for the team and Beckham too. but you're right Diane, with Becks you'll never know what would happen. Hope the knee heals soon...

We'll have to have Syd send an immediate report about Beck's spirits and his reception at OT (note to Syd...). I would have to bring a cart of hankies!
