David Beckham expected to start
David Beckham is expected to return to the Real Madrid starting line-up this Sunday when they play Athletic Bilbao. Details here.There are nicer photos of Becks new look, taken this morning in Madrid, in the gallery.
The papers this morning are full of stories about Becks and his new "do". The Daily Mail reports that he has gone for the look as he and Victoria are scheduled to complete a photo session with top photographer Stephen Klein for America's fashion bible W, full story here.
AS Diario went with a picture of David Beckham on the cover (view) and reported that the new style was especially to celebrate his return to the starting line-up. They also mentioned that his team-mates are now referring to him as "Canizares", a reference to the Valencia Goal-keeper who also sports bleached blonde hair, a translation of the story is online here. David Beckham joked with reporters as he left training yesterday, "I like to change and with short hair I wanted to do it - although I've had the mickey taken out of me for it", source.

AS.com also carries an editorial by Guillem Balague where he praises the difference that David Beckham makes to Real Madrid and praises his quality as a player both in terms of his skill at passing and crossing but also in terms of his fighting spirit and determination. Isn't Stephen Klein the one that took the racy Italian Vogue photos of Mr and Mrs Becks several years back? (Needless to say they are in the Gallery! :) Some of them, particularly one of the outtakes, are quite beautiful, but definitely on the edge... ;)
Sunday's match is already starting to distract me from my EPL side playing tomorrow!!! Very exciting.

oh his hair looks better in these new photos I think the problem yesterday was that the pics made his skin look pale like a ghost it looks a loooot better when he looks tanned and fit lol

I agree the pictures look a lot better today, but I still think that blonde hair is not his best. He still looks hot though, but looked better with his other hair color.

might seems a strange question but british press say his team-mates are calling him Marilyn but spanish seem to say they call him canizares which is right?

lol hello auntie - great minds think a like :) I was hoping that he was just flashing Capello a little leg as in pick me! pick me! but er I don't think so ;)
Oh I meant to say that though my spanish is crappy at best in the press conf with Reyes he says he'll stick with his own hair color and he calls Becks Canizares - I don't know what else he says that's all I picked up.
Now that brings me to the question above I think the tabloids are running this Marilyn thing because Canizares is not that well known so a lot of people won't get the canizares joke - but all the spanish press and they were actually at the club yesterday -wrote Canizares and their was no mention of 'Marilyn' so I don't know maybe they called him both? But on this I'd listen to the spanish press before I'd listen to the tabloids but I don't know the answer lol sorry :)

On closer examination I think: 1) that is one perfect knee (of course); 2) Becks is telling Capello, "put me in boss." And I'm sticking with my story.
It must be nerves combined with lack of other RM fans in the neighborhood, but I can't seem to stay away from the site or comments box for very long. So add refuge to list of perks you provide, Anna!

The game against Athletic will be tough with them fighting against relegation. Becks will certainly be a huge improvement on Higuain... nice lad but not a good finisher can do some good stuff on the run and beating players but when it comes to shoot and score he's pretty much shoot and miss, hes still a bit green to be a first team starter for Madrid which is not to say the lad won't come good in time just my sixpence worth. Now here's hoping Barca balls it up tonight and in the spirit of good sportsmanship I hope Sevilla lose too

Balague is quite the fan isn't it! It's interested hes just spent time with Becks interviewing him and now he is writing about him in his column so shows that when people spend time with Becks he leaves a strong positive impression...well I think it is a sign of that!
