David Beckham highlights

This video from You Tube (thanks to horseheaddelmadrid) has highlights of David Beckham from the Real Madrid v Valencia match. I was going to create a clip but this one has footage from the end of the match of Becks saluting the crowd and celebrating the win with his team mates and the broadcast that aired on television in my country cut to ads at the end and never showed this. The commentators on this clip are less head-ache inducing than mine too :) Enjoy!

The Sun are reporting this morning that LA Galaxy are beefing up security ahead of David Beckham's arrival after a fan ran on to the pitch to give his shirt to Becks during Saturday night's match against Valencia. Details here.

Good news, the weekends La Liga results have bought Real Madrid closer to the top of the table. Barclona lost to Villareal last night to remain leaders on 59 points, while Sevilla thrashed Athletic (who Real Madrid play next weekend) to move into second on 58 points and Real Madrid are in third on 57 points. With seven weeks remaining Real Madrid will need to win the rest of their matches and rely on at least one further slip from Barcelona to take top spot. Real Madrid will play Sevilla at the Bernabeu on May 6 and the outcome of this match will be critical to both teams title bids. It won't be easy but there is a chance, so let's all hope that Real Madrid can win the title and that David Beckham and his team-mates finish the season in style!

What commentary team do you get? I get the breathless and excited pom from the west country with the "what a fascinating sport this is...look the balls round" Amercian via Gol... I watch with asprin at the ready so I thought you might get tweedle dee and tweedle dum too?

hi Syd and tanique :)

I get a mix but yes it was Gol for this last game -I don't think they are that bad - I don't mind the Amercian guy but the British guy is a little OTT someone needs to cut back on his happy pills :)

Hold on, Syd, I think that American guy is Canadian. If the World Cups and MLS are any indicator, you would be suffering more with the American commentators. I often switch to the Spanish channels for relief!

Hey, I made this video, so it was easy to edit a much shorter version with just the Beckham stuff (and I added in the crazy T-shirt guy.)
