David Beckham England training!

David Beckham at England trainingDavid Beckham attended the first England training session ahead of this Friday's friendly with Brazil today. The session was held at arsenal's training facilities in North London. You can read a training report online here. Steve McClaren hinted to the media that David Beckham would be a starter for the next two matches as is widely expected. There are more than seventy photos of Becks at today's training session with the England squad in the England training gallery

The BBC show, Inside Sport, will have a special piece on David Beckham this evening, Becks won't appear on the show, but they travel to Madrid and interview fans and his team-mates such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy. It will air on BBC one at 23:05 and it will also be available for download from the BBC site the day after the programme goes to air. I'll post a link as soon as it's available.

Update - The Sun also have a write up on yesterday's training session.

I'm not 100% sure but this is the info another fan, Ben, shared (thanks Ben!) -

For England Games (bar the tournaments, when you have to assign the whole sqaud numbers from 1-23) the starting eleven players have to be given the numbers 1-11.

Since usually Owen Hargreaves had the 7 till now and is out (injuried or supended) the number 7 should be free again.

Becks is certain to start - and deservedly so (otherwise why would McClaren go trough all that hype and media attention)

so I guess Becks will be the 1st England Senior Player to wear the number 7 at the New Wembley :)

So cute him training with England again. Loooking sooooooo happy!!!

Two amazing weeks to really enjoy now. Finally!

Oh, and he will wear the number 7, not only because Hargreaves is injured (poor Hargreaves, I like him very much), but because he will start. :-)

I think McClaren recalled him to start both games, because Lennon is injured aswell and Becks is playing amazingly well.

His right foot and left? :-) (first RM goal) are doing very well the job.

Hi Siniestro :) I'll do another vote for Becks for "golden foot" reminder in a couple of days. I vote every day lol is that sneaky :))

Glad you like the banner :)

Now I have to go an work out if the interview in Marca is something new - in which case I hope either RM will cover it or I can somehow get a copy - or it could be the BBC interview because that was quite extensive and an especially nice interview... if you know what's in the interview at all pls heeeelp me thanks :)

Hello Anna...

According to Marca it is an "exclusive interview to Spain".
At least that's what was written on Marca website yesterday.

But I think it is the BBC interview, at least the cover quotes are the same.
If it was a new one, surely it would have a new unseen picture on the cover.

On the cover it has some quotes that Becks said during the interview, according to Marca.

Here are the quotes (as far as my eyes could see because the words are very small):

"It wasn't easy for me to come to a new country with no friends, no family..."

"Roberto Carlos was very polite with Victoria and the boys..."

"Zidane said that was an honour to have played with me. I'll never forget it..."

"I will never be able to give back to the supporters all the love they showed to me..."

As I said, the quotes are the same from the BBC interview. *confused*

Thank you so much sini (hope you don't mind me being so lazy as to shortn your username lol) I think it is the BBC interview too because if there were new "intimate" quotes in an interview by Becks the tabloids like The Sun and The Mirror would have run them overnight and they'd be out this morning - I checked and there's nothing so I think it is the BBC interview :) But THANK YOU!! so much for looking for me you are a sweetheart! :)
