Revista de La Liga Clip
Update 2 - More training photos from May 23 in the gallery.
The latest edition of Skysport's Revista de La Liga featured a discussion of whether David Beckham should be recalled for England as well as the usual highlights and analysis of La Liga as the race goes down to the wire. Some of the presenters comments were very interesting and give an insight into how highly regarded David Beckham is in Spain and deservedly so!
Update - Today's training report in spanish is online here and there are some super cute photos today which I've added to the gallery along with some training pictures from last week.

it's like the whole world can see he should be in the england squad but sadly that doesn't mean anything if mcclaren can't see it. I'd be real happy for him if he was recalled but I still can't really see mcclaren doing it

he he, even revista and the papers comment on how Real Madrid can give heart attacks to people, whether through happiness or by just keeping people on edge :)

i really enjoy the sky sports team, and look forward to their thoughts. so, thanks for posting anna.
4:54 AM
I like them too Tanique it's interesting to get their perspective as they're pretty objective and can't be accused of being biased fans :)
Marie, I thought the Marca cover was really funny, RM they'll kill you lol seriously I could really do with a comfortable win and no last minute heart attacks this week :)

Count me in -- on edge already ahead of the weekend and hope hope hoping for luck and happiness!!! Everything possible crossed.
Anna, thank you for the Revista clip with another great story about Becks and Roberto Carlos. Fun image of their "let's go!" (for the winning goal), as well as Roberto Carlos' instinct that where Becks goes possibilities will be created.
Something I loved about Thierry Henry's BBC interview was his description of Becks' consistent excellence throughout four years at RM. So many other people/pundits, started paying attention this season and talk about Becks' form as if it was something new. If one hasn't followed RM it would be hard to see that (as a few of the more observant columnists have mentioned) he didn't have the playing time to show his form there in the Fall. Certainly no need here to rehash absurd criticism of Becks' World Cup, but the truth about that and RM couldn't have come from a more knowledgeable or honest observer than Henry! And his description of Becks the man was lovely.
I'm also crazy about Bill Nighy, and with more reason now! My kids watch his "Love Actually" movie continuously at Christmas time, but we might have to break it out for an honorary viewing sooner... :-).
Best luck to Becks tomorrow, and to him and RM on Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!

Anne thanks because you hold to us informs to you. We pray that Macclaren calls David. Hello and good fortune, Loredana, Samuele, Gabriel.

Thanks for the great revista clip!
Sad to see him leave RM just when things are really gelling :(
6:45 AM
they certainly can't be considered biased, anna. but, you get they are always honest.
i read more of what Bill had to say about david. what always makes me smile is not so much how much praise he gets for his football, but how people always have something wonderful to say as a man.
part of his legend has and will always be his graciousness, and his consummate professionalism, and how he carries himself as a man. you can't help but smile when the compliments go beyond the pitch.
i already loved bill, but i love him a little more now .

Thanks for the clip Anna.
I have mixed feelings about the callback for England. Though he obviously wants the call and based on his form he rightly should be, I'm just not looking forward to the usual attacks and blame that always comes with it. Also who knows how the team chemistry will be affected with that much focus on him. They have such high expectations on the team and when they're not met, they'll have their favorite scapegoat back again.

The SUN has instituted E POLL for the recall the David and the 91% has answered YES. Joined in the hope.Hello,Loredana,Samuele,Gabriele

that picture of him giving roberto carlos a full-body hug is just so damn awwwwwww!!! I luv those boys :0)

Tanique - one other nice thing about Bill is this isn't the first time he has spoken out for Becks he said some very nice things about him during a Times interview almost a year ago before it had become "fashionable" to say he shouldn't have been left out of the England squad. He's a nice bloke and a good actor too :)
Scilla - I know what you mean but sometimes I think all poor Becks has to do to get criticized is - well - breathe. So I guess he has to back himself and we have to back him to be able to "bring it" as he so often has and we can't worry about any negative scenarios - he has to have a go and I hope he gets to have a go he deserves it :)
As for team chemistry - are the press claims about the impact of Becks "celebrity" real or imagined? I think the latter. I don't understand the media's approach if I believed the team was effected by this then I would be saying - get over it, suck it up, grow a pair - pick a cliche lol I don't know why the press act like all these poor little millionaires should somehow be excused or pandered too if there wittle egos can't cope with having someone more famous in the team based on form. I mean c'mon that is a little er pathetic as excuses go lol sry - this isn't aimed at you in anyway Scilla - so pls don't take me wrong lol - I just have read so many times in the press about how Becks is a celebrity and therefore no one in the England team could possibly turn up on the day and bring their best game cos there were so many people with cameras and so much attention on the "star" it upset dem poor wittle players and they all stuck out their bottom lip and got a bit sulky and just couldn't pway - I mean what the - what the? How old are these men? LOL
Wear the shirt, have some heart, passion, spirit, don't leave anything in the locker - play for your own pride, play for your family, play for your country - shouldn't that be what the press and everyone else expects regardless. Let's face it when it comes to wearing the shirt with pride Becks can lead the masterclass so perhaps the press instead of acting like hes a distraction should acknowledge he is the example, one of the best examples there has ever been!
Anyway, perhaps the press should give the rest of the team credit, comments from John Terry and Owen Hargreaves suggest there is no problem and without wanting to get on the already crowded bandwagon of England bashers - well Becks hasn't been in the team for sometime and I ummm haven't seem a big improvement in the chemsitry :) if anything they seemed calmer and more confident being lead out by Becks. :)
Ok rant over :)
4:12 PM
Anna, I get your point about the players being able to deal with his celebrity, I'm just still annoyed with McClaren and I want him to live with his earlier choices. Realistically, he'll play a couple of games before moving to l.a. and I highly doubt he's gonna be called back. I'm just bitter that he's gonna go out there, give his heart out and probably help McClaren keep his job.
6:46 PM
anna, lovely rant. the press seems to certainly trying to imply problems, where there are none. do players resent Jordan, in his prime, because he's jordan? or do you embrace that fact that a great is on your team, someone who's a leader and someone you can learn from?
from all accounts, it's pretty hard not to respect david as a team player. so, i absolutely think any problems from the team are imagined.
thanks anna about the bill info. i guess it took a letter for david to notice. lol. i've yet to be disappointed in him in a movie.
heads up, Dominic Monihan, did an interview and said he used david as an example, for wanting to leave his show. he said david realized he wasnt being appreciated and used, and decided to carve a new life our for himself. he said he thought of him when deciding about his Lost future. it was a nice piece, where he calls david, one of the greats.
7:55 PM
Thanks for the Sky Sports video.
Scilla, I understand when you say he maybe be called back only to help during some games and when he leave to US he won't be called back.
But I think if he is called back and play well, even when he goes to US, he can be called back, based on his perfomances for England. If he plays well, no one will care where he plays, I think.
If he is called back he might help McClaren keep his job, as you said. But he loves to play for England and that's what matters. It would be nice actually, if he helped McClaren keep his job, just like he helped that Capello. :-)
8:07 PM
Thanks Tanique do you know where the interview with Dom appeared? I can't post without a source :)
lol Siniestro I know how much you love that Capello :)) lol
12:18 AM
i watched it on E! news, last night. it's on eonline, and then under the Vine video tab, you can find the video. it's a really cool interveiw.

The wait is tiring but if David is successful to convince Hat (we know it and we assure to you that he is a hard man) we believe that he can succeed to us also with MacClaren (we augur ourselves that him it is not stupid) Today is the birthday of my husband, therefore I must dedicate to me to him every time that I can I will watch to the computer. Strong in the hope. Also the children wait for good news. Hello, Loredana, Samuele, Gabriel
6:00 AM
