Becks recovered!

David Beckham and Roberto CarlosDavid Beckham trained fully with the team today and is expected to start tomorrow night's crucial match against Mallorca, squad list. Becks gave reporters, who were asking if he would be ready to play, a thumbs up. A win will see Real Madrid crowned champions of the Primera Liga. It was Becks last training session at Real Madrid and he trained closely with Roberto Carlos and both were especially affectionate with their teammates. They talked, laughed, joked around, and shared their sadness for leaving and their hopes of winning the League. Training report in english is now online and photos are in the gallery

I have also placed some large untagged recent photos of David Beckham training and playing with Real Madrid in a separate album as these photos are too large to fit the gallery page lay out, you can view them here.

Roberto Carlos gave an interview to AS Diario and said "I feel proud to have known David because besides being a great player, he is also a great person. I am sad that he leaves Real Madrid because he is a world class player."

Iker Casillas when asked about it being Roberto Carlos and David Beckham's last game told the Real Madrid site, "I will be sad when they leave. One never truly believes the day will come... We should pay tribute to them on Sunday for all they've done for this Club."

Fabio Capello confirmed that David Beckham would start, he told the pre-match press conference, "I spoke with him after training and he said that he felt very good and would have no problems in playing." Capello also said, "I think Beckham has been a very important player... I would put him up amongst the best players I've ever coached." Full story here. Thanks Yaohan-bu for your help :)

Thanks to Jffcollado A large section of David Beckham's press conference is available on You Tube in 4 parts. Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 and Part 4, thanks to Tanique33 for the heads up.

sigh, that quote from Iker really kills me, they would really miss Roberto Carlos and Beckham...getting the tissues out now, and its 30 + hours and counting before the La Liga match.

cool thanks Tanique! I'll add these to the post :))

I could grab the flv's too but there wouldn't be any point really because I would just need to upload the clip to a free flv hosting service like youtube or dailymotion and they have a 10 or 20 minute limit so I would still have to break the press conference into parts - so in the end anything I would do would look just like what is already there, so may as well use that with my sincerest thanks to you and to jffcollado :))

The tibute of Capello I assure to you that he is large him has always trained great players: CANNAVARO, PIERO ,TOTTi, BUFFON ETC. I assure to you that it is before the time that it praises a its player so much. This I pay has a value strongly because CaPELLo is considered arrogating and therefore its words of esteem in the comparisons of David have a great value. Force David! Alé MAdrid. Loredana, Samuele, Gabriel

I agree Loredana, it takes a lot to change the mind of Capello and it is a big statement about Becks that Capello admits just how wrong he was. Becks has proven so many people wrong over the years and made fans of many critics. Even Iker Casillas said he was all about marketing and not about football before Becks joined Real Madrid. I am sure that he wishes he could take those words back :)
