Bilic praises David Beckham

Photos of David Beckham in Tallinn in the gallery
Croatia coach, Slavan Bilic, has told the media that he is concerned the return of David Beckham to the England team will increase their chances of qualifying, he said -
"I would like him [Beckham] not to play for England because with him it is not the same team.
"I love him as a player and Steve McClaren is a great manager for bringing him back."
"Despite all the money and all the glory that he [Beckham] has had you can still see in his eyes he is really crazy about football, that he is giving 100 per cent and in training and every exercise and every game. He is a big big asset, of course."
Terry on Becks
John Terry told the media at a press conference last night in Tallinn that he thinks David Beckham and Michael Owen can inspire the side, full comments here -“With Becks back, his delivery is second to none and Michael has got his full sharpness back.”
He added: Becks doesn’t want to be the centre of attention, he wants to play for England.
He wants to get that shirt back on — that’s all he wants to do.
When he sat around the table at lunch he said how nervous he was and when you hear that from a man who has achieved what he has it is a breath of fresh air.
He is desperate to come in and get the shirt and keep hold of it, not just for his 100th cap but many more than that.
England - Estonia Preview
Today England will play Estonia in a critical match which they must win to keep their Euro 2008 qualification chances alive. Here is a match preview from Reuters and also The TelegraphEstonia Goal Keeper Poom has singled David beckham out as England's danger man he said "We all know about David's quality on set pieces and crosses and we saw that on Friday." He also paid tribute to Becks determination in winning a recall saying, "He's a great example to young players and to older players that you should never give up, not in life, not in football," Poom said. "He's always been driven and determined, and whenever I've seen him play he gives his all and even more for England. "In a difficult situation, you need your experienced players and your leaders back on the pitch." Read the full story and comments from the Estonian coach online here.
Here's hoping Becks has a great game and England take the three points. Go England! Go Becks!

10:20 AM
I hope his leg is ok...
12:17 PM
Yes, it's a concern. He is continuing to play for the second half. I hope he is ok perhaps if they get a second goal and go 2-0 up he will come off as a precaution as he does seem to have something niggling him, hopefully it's minor :(
12:35 PM
:))) maybe he is feeling ok now he created such a great second goal, it must be good medicene :)) He's England's best player - again!!
12:46 PM
Becks just made another for Owen, that'll do his confidence good after being out so long with the injury nice to see the lads doing well together
12:51 PM
hiya syd :) He played brilliantly again!! And he seems to be fine even tho he was clutching his leg at one point, still hes come off now and that's probably for the best - no point pushing it at 3-0 and he's done more than enough to be back for the match against Germany :)
12:58 PM
definatelly the best on the pitch.
great job Becks, u proved it once again.......great passes as always.
i hope there is nothing wrong with his leg, cause real are depending on him so much. he must be fit for the weekend!!!!!!!!
Anna, can't wait for the photos!!!
1:30 PM
Anna, I'm hearing that hes got an ankle injury...hope its minor :-(
1:33 PM
Brillllllllllllliant, and one foot down!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy.
Yes, I worried about the ankle throughout, can't help it -- but you couldn't have asked for two better goals from his assists. Well deserved confidence boosters all around. Becks definitely did more than enough to be back for any match ;-D and the whole team looked sharper from the outset than they have done for quite some time.
Keep passing the pom-poms!!!!!!!!
1:39 PM
Hiya Iva and Syd - photos are in the gallery - yes I've heard that too syd I'm waiting for more details.
1:44 PM
Strongly and courageous David even if has taken a soccer to the foot has continued to fight as a lion (prays that he is not serious). Croatia 0 and 0 Russia 0 to therefore a favorable result to the Inghilterra.Loredana, Samuele, Gabriel

I don't want to be a pessimist Anna but I've looked at the photos you've posted and based on the look on his face and the strapping etc...he doesn't look like a lad thats playing saturday to me :-(
1:50 PM
Hi Syd,
Of course I have the same worries (it's my best talent after all) but the strapping is holding ice on and he was smiling ear to ear watching the end of the match...so I'm holding out hope its not too bad...Saturday is the big one for RM :-! ...
I guess one dream come true at a time...anyhow, keeping all crossed for the best...
D
2:01 PM
thanks, i've checked the photos....
Syd u're right he doesn't look good at all, i can see that he is worried. and who knows better than himself. i'm really disapointed. anyway, u know i hope they're going to fix him till saturday.
