David Beckham spoke with The Sun and said -
Someone up there is definitely watching over us because a lot of luck has gone our way in the past few weeksLet's all hope Becks is healing well and send lots of positive thoughts and energy his way!
You need that bit of fortune but we deserve it as we have worked so hard for it.
But we're not going to get carried away because we know it's not over yet. We have to win one more time on Sunday, that's all that matters.
We haven't won the title yet but we've put ourselves in a great position.
Beckham added: I really want to be involved next Sunday and though my ankle is painful at the moment, I've got a week to get over it.

I seem to have had a blonde moment as I thought I had put this clip on the site yesterday (I loaded it 10 hours ago) but I have just looked at the site and it's not there (cue the music from the twilight zone). Capello Interview - Fabio Capello was interviewed by AS Diario (translation of comments at realmadrid.com) here's an excerpt -
What a shame that Beckham is leaving.Perhaps it is too little too late but it is still nice to see Capello admit he made a mistake and for David Beckham to receive the credit he is due.
Capello: It is a pity. He's another player that has regained his physical and psychological prowess after being really bothered about not being called by his national team. Playing for their national teams is very important to players, and even more so for the English.
You were wrong about Beckham?
Capello: We were all wrong. We all made the decision in the sporting area, and it's mostly my fault. Truthfully, we made a mistake with him.
Not just that, but Beckham has responded incredibly.
Capello: Very well. He's a great player. He's playing now like he used to with Manchester.
What would you do to keep him?
Capello: He would be a very important player for Madrid. I would be happy if the Club told me Beckham was staying.

Watching the highlights reminded me of the emotional rollercoaster I went through that night..from literally biting my nails a goal down, to jumping with joy at the 1-1 equalizer, to holding my breath when becks limped suddenly...lucky thing it ended on a really high note..can't wait for Sunday, just hope becks will be well-rested by then =) ..its BECKS ALL THE WAY! (OK, I can breath now =P)

Hi Catherine! It sure is exciting following Real Madrid lol we can't complain about being bored! The image that really made me laugh was poor Iker Casillas praying and just about chewing through his gloves!! I looked just as he looked I'm sure.
I really do think Becks was beyond amazing the way he kept going, every step must have been agony and yet he still put in a good cross and a good pass to RVN in the last few minutes after his ankle had completely given out. He's unbelievable!!
Every time I think I couldn't admire him more, he does something and I'm just blown away :) I'm praying for his injury, but there is 8 days so hopefully rest it 4 or 5 a couple of light days of training and he can go again :) Would hate for him to miss his last match with Real and considering the importance of it, they would have to lock him up to keep him off the pitch next Sunday :)

Complimant for clip, beautiful music. We are convinced that him Sunday will be in field, him is a combatant. Anne today re-entering to house from the job I have ignited the TV and a television channel filler the said words of from CAPELLO: David has given one behavior lesson to us! I know myself affected. don't worry loredana - it's no problem at all :) I think it's nice that you go to so much trouble when english is not your first language - I can speak no italian :)) but I am learning to swear in spanish over these last few weeks lol

i really had to respect capello, when i read what he said. i think it was the sky sports interview where david was asked if capello apologized, and he said no adn didn't expect it.
i'm sure david was quite pleased to now hear capello at least admit he was wrong.
at least, he can now leave the club on good terms, feeling a little vindicated.
capello really didn't have to say anything, but i appreciate him saying this, as he leaves.

I love the Becks and Gaz story, and I so love that the party stopped to watch the match...I can't imagine them finding anything much more exciting than that (and still being allowed home afterwards). Looks like Ruud made it too (hope they had driver, Becks likes to drive, but one-footed makes Auntie nervous ;-) ). Happy Becks got to celebrate with his best friend--I knew they would figure out some way to honor the occasion together.
I share everyone else's joy in seeing all the other clips and accolades. So another thanks for more smiles!
