David Beckham Retrospectives

Update - Photos of David Beckham dropping Cruz at nursery school have been added to the gallery. There are also photos of Becks from a farewell dinner at Asador Donostiarra attended by Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Carlos and other friends, last night in the same gallery. Thanks Scilla for the heads up.

Becks remained in the gymn during Real Madrid training again, however Roberto Carlos made some hopeful comments during a press conference at Real Madrid today. A reporter commented to him "You live these last moments next to your friend David Beckham..." and Roberto Carlos replied "David is as sad as I am for leaving the best Club in the world. He is a great player and human being whom I deeply respect and am very fond of. I think he is recovering well. He seems to be walking without problems. I'm no doctor, but we all want him to play his best game on Sunday"

A big thanks to Notorious for sharing this clip that aired on Revista de La Liga back in January when David Beckham's move to the LA Galaxy was first announced.

Also here is a retrospective of David Beckham's first two season's at the club. His time at the club is drawing to a close but it is not yet complete and a final and hopefully perfect ending to his four seasons with Real Madrid is still to be written! So let's keep all our positive thoughts and energy focussed on this Sunday's title decider and David Beckham's swift recovery. For a fairly humorous review of the weekend that was you can read Spanish Things column

Anna, I'm sure if Becks were watching he would say that you are amazing!!!!

Tears: officially started...

Beautiful retrospective, and the Revista one was very emotional as well. It's nice to have the visual reminders of what a brilliant career he's had at Madrid and, of course again, what a great guy he is.

Thank you,
D

Hi Anna,
The videos were lovely because it portrayed Beckham's great attitude and professionalism. I was wondering Anna, do you know if Beckham going to give a farewell press conference like Roberto Carlos?

Sorry I missed the question about the press conference. I don't know but I really hope there will be one if Becks wants to do one - because I think the way he has played for the club and the professionalism he has shown and the way he has never said one word against any of the hierarchy no matter how richly they deserved it, should have earnt him the right to say good bye and thank you to the fans and his team mates through a Real Madrid sanctioned press conference if he wants one.

Roberto Carlos has been with the club 11 years and it is possible that Becks is deliberately keeping a low profile to not take the attention away from his friend. Also I read in AS, I posted the article, that Guillem Balague said there were some farewell activities planned for Becks that had been cancelled first because he was recalled for England and now because he is injured. His priority is being well enough to play Sunday so he's reduced his diary committments to give himself more rest.

If there isn't a press conference then I guess he will make a statement through his spokesman.

Thanks Anna for the retrospective clip. It almost made me cry.
David is definitely unforgetable but it's not the end, it's just the beginning of a new life for him that, I hope, will be as full of great events as his times at ManU and in Madrid.
I wish him and his familly all the best. For Ever...

I agree with what you said Anna, about Becks "keeping a low profile to not take the attention away from R Carlos". David is that kind of man. Always with fineness...
