David Beckham Tallinn bound

david beckham england fan

David Beckham and the England squad will head to Tallinn tomorrow ahead of Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia. It is a critical, must win match if England's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2008 are to remain on track. For more on this there is a good article in The Times.

Lampard backs Becks

(Source) - Frank Lampard joined the chorus singing David beckham's praises and told the media
There was also a nice balance. It looked good across the midfield and I think David gives us that. He is very disciplined on the right and was supplying good balls from the right-hand side. It is nice to play in a team with players of quality that can deliver a ball like he did for the goal.

He is the best set-piece taker in the world. Simple as that. He can deliver them for Real Madrid and England time and time again. That's what he can do. When he puts balls in like that, and you've got people like John Terry, it is going to produce goals.
Here are some links to clips from the game on You tube if you haven't already checked them out -

Alan Shearer, former England captain and current BBC pundit has backed David Beckham to be involved in all of England's Euro 2008 qualifying matches, full story here. Gary Lineker, also believes that Becks should continue in the squad, story here. It is good to see that the attitude to David Beckham's long term involvement is changing as we all know how much playing for England means to Becks. We also know that there is no better option for England on the right!

Finally, I've added a few Photos of David Beckham from his last match and the last months training sessions with Real Madrid to the gallery for anyone who was in withdrawal, a big thanks to Siniestrototal for sharing them :)

It's a pity Becks wasn't in the campaign from the start. England have been over-confident in there supposedly easy group and now with Croatia and Russia winning on Saturday its all looking a lot tougher than anyone expected...we should still get there but its no sure thing thanks to McClown :(

What an extraordinary time this is!!!!! We fans have been given the amazing (to use Becks' favorite word) gift of a rare task: supporting him on two teams with 3 critical matches coming in short order!!! So long as we don't forget to breath on the job LOL... A beautiful time for Becks and thrilling for all of us supporters.

Wonderful to see praise for Becks pouring in by the truck load...never a bad plight, having too much good press about Becks to keep up with! I'm loving every word and getting even more excited about Wednesday (is that POSSIBLE?). It still seems like a dream at times.

Anna, thanks for the new batch of Real photos. They're great, and I must admit to being one of the withdrawal victims!!! (Can't figure out how to make a blushing smiley face...).

Best, best, best, best luck to all the boys!!!!!!!!!!! (And to all of us in cheering them on ;-D).

Loredana, I have already posted Alan Shearers comments about David Beckham and the link is in this post, the article on AS is the same :) Is Alan Shearer a fan? No - but David Beckham has few "fans" in the british media and when the critics praise him and back him in anyway it is perhaps more significant :)

I don't agree with Shearers comments I think it's good Becks is going to LA and it shouldn't make a difference for him being able to play for England.

Nice words from Lampard aswell.

It's a great feeling to see all the players saying good things about him, especially because some part of the media some months ago made everyone think some England players didn't like Becks' "star status".
And from the players'comments we can see they seem to really admire Becks. Especially Terry. :-)

Well, I think Becks should be involved in all Euro qualifying matches, but in the Euro 2008 aswell. :-)
Seriously, Becks it top class and can do it. Besides, everytime he plays for England he is very motivated.

Thanks for the youtube clips, Anna. :-)

It's like Becks said, lets take things one game at a time. I am sure if he plays the qualifiers and it goes well then when it comes to the finals he will be in the frame. One step at a time. After all it's less than a week since the majority of pundits were suggesting he should only be bought back for two games so this is progress!! lol It may not be as positive as we would like or as fast as we would like - but it's still a good sign of a change in atitude :)
