David Beckham, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, cheered on his team-mates from the bench during last nights Super Liga game against Chivas de Guadalajara which the LA Galaxy lost 2-1. The match report is online here. Photos are in the gallery.

LA Galaxy General Manager Alexi Lalas told the post match press conference, "We were real happy David wanted to be a part of the team and on the bench... He was excited and animated and he wants this team to win... He's frustrated, he wants to play and, to a certain extent, he feels he's letting people down... But this is a long-term process. He's going to be with us for a long time and we need to get him 100 percent healthy. We've got plenty of games. We just need to get him healthy." David Beckham will travel with the team today to Texas ahead of Tuesday's SuperLiga game against FC Dallas, (source). He will be hoping to play some part in the match and a decision will be made closer to game time, fingers crossed! Correction - the team will travel on Monday and a decision will be made on whether David Beckham will be with them once his ankle is assessed Monday morning, details here.

In other news, it is reported that Steve McClaren will travel to the US to watch David Beckham play for the LA Galaxy on August 9th when they are away to DC United, more here.

I could be cynical and say that they need to get him healthy in time for the next game that ESPN is televising but I won't! I'll say good luck to the lad he must be bleeding sick of that ankle giving him gip. I hope it's better soon

We hope that the Galaxy does not force David to play, because it would be in error. Better to leave to recover its ankle therefore it could be useful to the club and England. Force David! Loredana, Samuele, Gabriel.

Fair dues reading what Yallop and Lalas say they do seem to be approaching his injury in the right way now and hopefully the lad will be ready for the league
