David Beckham targets Toronto
Update - LA Galaxy have progressed to the semi-finals of the Super Liga after winning a thriller against Dallas FC tonight 6-5. The match report with audio/video and the play-by-play is online here. The semis will be played in mid-August.

LA Galaxy coach, Frank Yallop has told reporters that David Beckham's target is Toronto and that he is expected to travel with the team on Friday. A decision about whether he can play will be made closer to the time. The match between the Galaxy and Toronto FC on August 5th will be the teams first MLS regular game since David Beckham joined the club. LA Galaxy General Manager, Alexi Lalas has reportedly said, "If we had it to do over again, the Chelsea game and the trip to Colorado (for the MLS All-Star game), we wouldn't have done it" suggesting that the club realises now that these decisions have impacted on David Beckham's recovery time-table. Lalas also said that Becks won't play until he's 100 percent healthy, "We don't want to fall into this trap of trying to appease everybody and aggravate the injury... If he's constantly playing catch up, he'll be no good to the Galaxy and we'll suffer on and off the field. It's a long-term play here" source.
David Beckham was voted Manchester United's best premier league right midfielder in a poll conducted on the club's official site. He won convincingly receiving over 100,000 more votes than the second placed Ronaldo. Congratulations Becks!

well, now, i appreciate Alexi for taking responsibility for the galaxy's part in david's recovery. not that i believe they'd take chelsea back. at least they acknowledge it probably hurt him more.

Hello to all! First of all it compliments David, its fans have not forgotten it. We are happy for the news seems that its recovery will happen shortly (hopes and prays). We have not never thought that Lalas is one stupid, and partially we have admitted that the recovery of David has not been managed well. We are convinced that David has expressed its thought, because the first one to want to make great things is just he and will happen alone if it will be in condition physical perfect. Finger cross. I do agree with Lalas. He really wants David as a good player not as a 'toy' (like it happened in the past.......) and that's great.
All the best for David's recovering. He must really miss playing.

What an absolut awesome, and unbelievable game that was !
1st half great play by Galaxy
2nd they got powered back by Dallas yet managed to stay on top - a bit of luck was involved though.
positive spots: Harmse (defensive midfield) and Gordon (2 goals and a good game overall)

Thanks Anne. I do not have more the fever therefore I am well. I and Samuele try to convince daddy to buy the tickets of the games of the galaxy still are not resolutions to convince he, say that they transmit them of night but we think that the mother you would see the same one to them. Hi Gabriel I'm so glad you are feeling better :) The current professioanl soccer league in the US - MLS was formed in 1996 but professional soccer has been played in the US since the 1970's at least maybe earlier :)

thanks ben for the Galaxy news, and Gabriel glad to see too that you are doing better. You're right Loredana, Beckham should play only if he is 100% fit. Lalas seem to come to his senses, and there was a report that it is because of the injections to him by the Real Madrid doctors that the ankle is taking longer to heal.

Most of the time, injections are really really bad... Many doctors think that but some others still don't believe it...
Hope that David's ankle will heal correctly.
