David Beckham USA Info
Update – Photos of David Beckham out biking in the South of France today are in the gallery. Becks took his personal trainer, Paul Winsper, the former Newcastle United conditioning coach, with him on holiday.
A week from today David Beckham will be officially presented as a Los Angeles Galaxy player so I thought now was a good time for a US info re-cap.
David Beckham’s planned US Schedule
July 12 - according to media reports David Beckham is expected to arrive in Los Angeles.
July 13 - David Beckham will be officially presented as a Los Angeles Galaxy player at 10am LA time. The press conference will be streamed live via lagalaxy.com. The presentation will be open to the press and season-pass holders but not to the public.
July 16 - David Beckham is expected to train with the team for the first time. Training sessions may not be open to the public. Check with the club directly before making the trip.(Source)
July 19 – All-Star match against Celtic FC will be held in Commerce City, Colorado. David Beckham is expected to attend but not to actually play. (Source)
July 21 – David Beckham is expected to make his LA Galaxy Debut against Chelsea FC. Television coverage of Becks debut game will be as follows –
(Source) ESPN’s coverage will kick off at 6 p.m. EDT with “SportsCenter” and an extra half-hour at 7 p.m. that will focus exclusively on Beckham. It will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by “David Beckham: New Beginnings,” an hour long documentary about the soccer star. (I don’t know if this is the name of the ITV documentary being made or something else). A half-hour pregame show will be hosted by Rob Stone and analyst Julie Foudy.
The match begins at 9 p.m. on ESPN with play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien plus analysts Eric Wynalda and Tommy Smyth and sideline reporter Allen Hopkins. Reggie Bush, Becks recent co-star from the Adidas Futbol meets Football campaign will also be in the booth. ESPN said there will be 19 cameras, including a skycam, robotic goal cams and super slo-mo shots. There also will be a camera isolating Beckham’s actions during the match as well, which will be available on ESPN360.com. ESPNSoccernet.com also will have coverage.
Throughout the week leading up to Beckham’s debut, ESPN will also present news, interviews, opinion and analysis surrounding Beckham’s move to MLS. there will undoubtedly be a lot of coverage which I’ll post about as and when I hear details.

LA Galaxy announced in January that they would change their colors and logo, and launch them to coincide with David Beckham’s presentation. The clubs colors appear to be midnight blue, white and yellow. The front of shirt sponsor is Herbalife. David Beckham will wear the number 23.
ooh anna, i'm liking the new yellow look of the page. i can get behind those shirts. i like the navy, yellow and white. although anything is better than the green and yellow.i look forward to getting my becks shirt now.

Pru you can pre-order them now I'll find a link and post itTanique – I don't know I get ESPN but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll show what they do in the US so I'm not too sure just yet what I will and won't get but the internet is always a good backstop if all else fails most things can be found online
ok. well, i'll keep my eyes out for things you might miss. it seems like there will be a lot of coverage, at least initially. but, hopefully, you'll get some games.

mlsgear.com ships internationally. they don't currently have becks jersey. but, when it's available, that is one site that will have it.

My goodness, by the time I got to the end of the list of ESPN cameras, I was a little afraid of where they were going to put one NEXT! I hope we get to see some of the action on the pitch amidst all the tricks they seem to have planned…Anna, I like the new masthead too, and thanks for the holiday pix…I'm glad he's someplace nice while training. BTW, the web address for Eurosport is soccer.com and they usually have jerseys pretty early…they have Becks's new Predator range on their home page.

That is what the Home shirt is expected to look like – I don't know what the front of the Away kit will look like. I called them mock-ups because they're not official. Adidas has not "officially" unveiled the new look but they did put these pictures on their website for a few hours and then quickly pulled them. Some say it was an accident others say an intentional leak to start a viral publicity campaign ahead of the official unveiling – who knows. Anyway, until it's official there is always that 1 in a thousand chance that they are plants or could be changed – unlikely though. Anyway I think these are definitely the colors as the colors have been known for a long time and I do think the new kits are much nicer than the old ones 
I'm glad you can post Scilla sadly I have no influence over that as if you look at the top of the comments box you will see you are no longer on my site. Comments are handled by googles blogger, sorryDiane so long as they don't put audio on the Becks cam it should be ok

Oooh, hadn't even thought about the swearing…and now available in two languages!! Believe it or not my family is going on holiday for two weeks in a few days. When it will finally be easy for me to catch Becks on TV at home, I'll be in a different country! Oh well, might be best for my nerves, although I'm sure I'll be able to find a computer now and then to check in with you all, so I'm looking forward to thorough comments

rpm – I've heard that on the same day that David was photographed for that adidas shoot overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, he appeared live on the Today Show with Matt Lauer, promoting his Soccer Academy and teaching kids to 'bend it'. Do you by any chance have photos of that event? Thanks in advance.
There will be 19 cameras and one of them as it says above will be dedicated to continuously filming David Beckham – so they are calling it Beckham-cam – players usually don't have a camera dedicated to them in isolation showing everything they do whether they are on or off the ball for an entire game, in all honesty they did this with Zidane for the movie Zidane 21st century portrait too and it wasn't the most interesting view point of a player because you can't see what else is happening its like they're out of context – it's hard to explain but bottom line not that interesting – perhaps this will be different
Can you watch LA Galaxy games on the internet – mlsnet.com has a service but whenever the games are televised in the US there is a blackout on streaming them and almost all of David Beckham's games will be televised so … in reality there doesn't seem to be a legitimate offering.Do I have any photos of Becks from the Today show – I'm not sure to be honest I have quite a lot that I haven't had the time or room to place online yet – hopefully in time

hey guys, i need some help. i usually buy all my Becks' jerseys off eBay. i'm looking for LA Galaxy Beckham Long Sleeve and i can't find it anywhere. The only place i've seen something close to it is on ESPN's Soccernet store, which was Long Sleeve LA Galaxy without the Beckham printing on back. And i'm not sure if their offer of customized printing (for an extra $20) will be authentic.Does anyone know where I can find the new Beckham LA Galaxy Long Sleeve?
