MLS Beckham reports

Update - new photos of Posh and Becks attending an LA Galaxy team barbeque on Sunday are in the gallery. Thanks Tanique!

mlsnet.com publishes Beckham reports most days and you can find the links on the mlsnet homepage along with other excellent Beckham coverage. You can watch the reports for Saturday and Sunday above, thanks to Notorious. The clips feature lots of footage of Becks supporting and sharing a laugh with his new team-mates. Nice!

As posted yesterday, David Beckham's ankle injury will receive treatment today and after an assessment, a decision will be made on whether he will travel to Texas with the LA Galaxy ahead of Tuesday's Super Liga game, more here.

Updated - LA Galaxy have unfortunately announced that David Beckham will not be travelling to Texas. Coach Yallop said that "He's going to stay here and train.... He's going to start running today, so that's good." You can read more details on Becks injury status and the supportive comments from his team-mates online here. Let's wish him all the best and send all the positive energy we can his way as he will be very frustrated by this situation.

Becks nominated for Kids Choice Award

David Beckham has been nominated in the best sports person catergory at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2007. You can vote online here.

Also just a reminder that the Manchester United poll to determine the club's best Premier League right-midfielder finishes today, if you haven't already you can vote here.

Last but not least, David and Victoria Beckham made Vanity Fair's world famous best dressed list this year in the couples catergory. The magazine is due out this Friday, you can view the full list here. Congrats to the very stylish couple!

im fifteen years old and i have been working hard all summer to earn money to go see beckham at tomorrows game in dallas. i spent $500 for two on field tickets, and while i want him to get better just as much as anyone else. its very disheartening that he will not even be making an appearance.

I know it must be really disappointing and I really feel for you I'd feel the same but unfortunately part of what seems to have set back his recovery was plane travel. Reports have said that his ankle swelled up during the trans-atlantic flight and so I think he might have made an appearance if it were not a 7 hour round trip - although of course I don't know. Unfortunately his recovery just hasn't gone to plan but I know that's not much help, sorry.

To the one from Dallas. I'm pretty sure next season he will travel to Dallas to play. I know you will have to wait a lot, but you will still have more chances to see him. ;-)
And maybe you can still see him this season, not sure. It depends on the MSL play-offs, I think. If both teams qualify.

Get well soon Becks! :-(

Siniestro you are right he is in the US for 5 years so there will be other chances! Though that doesn't make it less disappointing right now for people with tickets now.

That said, he does of course have to be allowed to get well he probably shouldn't have played on the 21st it may have added a few more days to his recovery. Lets just hope he can play again soon as he'll be itching to get into it and start practising with the team

, Also we think that its ankle has not received the just cures (the call for its country is approached therefore is more better than dedication to its corrected recovery, the Galaxy would have had to avoid to make it to play against the Chelsea and to make to seat uselessly it in park bench in order to only please fans the true ones fans they want he in perfect physical conditions, in our country is unthinkable that a player seats in park bench knowing that will not be able to play, excused we but we have not appreciate the strategy of the Galaxy.Congratulation David we have gained the ballot online for the Manchester.Loredana Samuele, Gabriel

Hmmmm, seems that his injury is much more serious than people thought. It has been over 6 weeks since RM's last game. With hindsight, I think the fact that Beckham did not receive treatment immediately after the RM game had somehow lenghten the recovery. With England's games approaching, I really worry about his fitness

Anyway, I am a bit annoyed by some reactions on other forums. I know people are disappointed with his absence. However, no player wants to be sidelined. How can they put all the blame solely on Beckham!

The thing is there is no special treatment for a sprained ankle... its a time and rest injury it's not like something needed to be done and wasn't David Beckham is a professional he does not neglect to care for his injuries hes always taken very good care of himself, hes not a drinker or a partier hes a lad who keeps himself in shape. He had a personal trainer with him on his holidays... no there have been a few set backs the trip to LA which was unavoidable... and the trip to Colorado and his playing in the game against Chelski which were avoidable. They are the only mistakes that have been made in respect of the lad's treatment plan.

he's looking like a typical LA boy more more in the pics :), the ankle is still heavily taped up though; as long as he rests well, he'll be running on the pitch soon.

i'm sorry to hear about your tickets to dallas. that is rough. but hopefully, you can either sell your tickets or enjoy the game anyway. hopefully, you'll get an opportunity to see him in the future.

i'd imagine you'd much prefer to see him play at full speed, and not just sitting on the bench.

syd, i agree. it seemed david did all he could, with the trainer and all. it bugs me that they have pointed the finger at madrid, but have not owned up to their part in it.

I agree Julie he would be there if he could be there. In fact Yallop has actually said he wanted to go but he can't - you can read this quote and others in the LA times article I posted in the news post above this one.
