David Beckham joins team training!

Great news, David Beckham joined in a light team training session today, for the first time since injuring his knee in August! Becks said, "I wasn't meant to be training today, but once I'm out there it felt good. Today went well but we'll just have to see how it is this afternoon and tomorrow... I'm still restricted on many things but overall it felt great."
Team-mate Landon Donovan told reporters, "(Beckham) looked great. He's amazing. I'm sure he'll probably be sore tomorrow, but he looked fine. I don't know how long until he plays but I would assume he's not playing this weekend. But he's going to help us when he gets back."
Coach Yallop added, "He hasn't kicked the ball with the team in I don't know how long and he looks like he's not been out of the lineup. He's just an unbelievable player. Once you see him live and work around him he's incredible." The full story is online here.
Becks will possibly see a return to action next week against Toronto FC, more here, although LA Galaxy Coach Yallop doubted he would be available for the England qualifier on the same date as he hasn't played any competitive minutes for the LA Galaxy yet. Full story here.

6:04 PM
do they play toronto or ny next week?
6:07 PM
I am happy for him so long as he is really ready. I hope they aren't hurrying him at all. This seems a little sooner than anyone expected and I just hope he is truly recovered and they're not going to make the same old mistakes.

According to the MLS schedule on the official MLS site they play Houston this Sunday October 7, Toronto FV next week Oct 13 and then New York on Oct 18. He said his goal was Houston but that it was more probable it would be the following week so that would be the game against Toronto.
I hear you Pru but it was just a light session today and October 13 would be 6 weeks from the game he sustained the knee injury in. Let's hope they've learnt their lesson
I don't know if today's training session was open to the media or not but so far I haven't seen any photos through the agencies that usually have them.

Thanks for the vid so cute when Becks talks about his boys! Great to hear he's almost ready to start playing again

Is it just me....or did Becks seem "different" somehow when he was interviewing Mia???....I don't know he just sounds and looks different somehow????....I can't quite place it....fatigue , discomfort/pain or something....Then again it could just be me!!!
Can't wait to see Becks' on the pitch again.
Robbi.

Shyness! Robbi, both Mia and Becks are famous for how shy they each were off the pitch (and to some extent still are). Both forced themselves to learn how to speak in public as they became better known and became spokespeople for their teams and sport.
I've been saying since I heard about the show that we were about to see the two shyest people in world sports having a chat ;-) . I thought they were incredibly sweet, good fans of each other and of soccer/football.
It was a treat for my whole family...we still have as many Mia posters on the walls as we do of all the football lads (combined I think!). No surprise that they would appreciate each other's gifts as much as we do.
Thank you for the keepsake clip, Anna.

Oops, realize I might get in trouble using the word "shy." I'm only referring to the speaking aspect -- we know at least one of the two is not shy about the appearing side!!!

I know what you mean Robbi. I think it feels more natural somehow like they're having a chat not doing a press conf so maybe it's more real :D

Brilliant. The lad will be itching to go and will be a huge shot in the arm for the team's chances

I really don't think they'd push him if he wasn't ready especially against Toronto. It'll be great to see him back in the team I'll def be at next weekend's game
