Becks blogs
David Beckham has updated his blog -
Hi everybody,
After spending the past few weeks working hard on my fitness you’ll be glad to hear that I now feel ready to play, and hopefully I’ll be on the bench for the game against Red Bull New York today. Obviously I’m not completely match fit yet, but I hope to get on and play a little, which will help my fitness. The team have been absolutely brilliant lately, winning five games in a row, so I know it’ll be a challenge to get back into the starting eleven. I went along to the Galaxy Foundation Charity golf day on Monday and, although I couldn’t play, I did enjoy watching the rest of the squad playing and got to meet some of the fans, which was great.
That’s all for now,
David

David Beckham's Soccer USA 13
Photos of David Beckham at training today are in the gallery. The final episode of the US edition of David Beckham's Soccer USA is online. You can watch highlights above, including Becks at training, and the whole show online here. The UK edition took a break this week and the final episode will air next week!
LA Galaxy v NY Red Bulls
The LA Galaxy club have put out a press release to say that David Beckham is available for selection for the game against the NY Red Bulls. Although he will not start but may come in as a sub. More here.Earlier today AP reported that David Beckham had aggravated his left ankle in training. However, they have now revised the article with all reference to him re-injuring his ankle removed. No explanation for the sudden change in the story was given.
The LA Times is continuing to report that David Beckham is a doubt because of re-injuring his left ankle and the photos from practice seem to bear the LA Times reports out because Becks can be seen visibly wincing and rubbing his left ankle in pictures.
You can read the match preview here. Go Galaxy and good luck to Becks if he plays I hope he is 100% ready and has a great return to action!!

Thanks a lot for the DBSoccerUSA summary clip.
2 "cup finals" to go - hopefully they can win them and Becks is able to help them to that.

As I thought it is the ankle that continues to niggle not the knee which goes to show just how inadvisable it was to push it back in July.
Things still seem fishy. So much posturing about the lad having to compete to make the starting eleven. Fine let them do there bit of PR. Truth is the lad is still head and shoulders above their mid-feild options on any day and it seems to me that he isn't fit enough to start... zero to do with the rest of this rhubarb we are hearing. Truth is Yallop isn't a coaches elbow if he can't take an asset like a fit Beckham and incorporate him into the team without worsening the current level of play. No coach can coach on superstition so don't give me this no changes cos of a winning streak crap. Truth is... it is stretching the generosity of old lady luck expecting the ref to hand the game over yet again. I would say that it all whiffs pretty strongly of Becks not being 100% but they are going to have him ready to be a sub because they may well need him and they know that's the deal... everything else is window dressing.

I'm still absolutely gutted we couldn't get a draw against Russia and I'm really hoping Becks will have better luck today and that the lag can make the playoffs!! Go Becks =)

:( That's not the happy face we were hoping for! Any armchair MD's have a theory about a "sprain" four months out? My little knowledge says that something that takes so long to heal would not have sustained weight at all in the first few weeks. The injury probably restarted a few times during the months in action though...so I'll just think of this as only 6 weeks of recovery and try not to worry that there have been complications!
Waiting to see the smile...

go the G's!!! Thanks for the pics and clip Anna :-) Sorry to see David in pain at practice tho :-( Hopefully just a little niggle and nothing majuh!
5:37 AM
The Red Bulls have nothing to play for and some of their best players should be rested so that will hopefully be a big big help and the galaxy and Becks will win !!!
5:48 AM
Yeah, Julie. In the pictures it seems he is having a bit of pain. :-(((((((((((
Hope it´s not too early for him to come back and hopefully, if he plays, he will only play some minutes.
Good luck to LA Galaxy, though.

Great to see David looking well and I'm glad he didn't play too much and is easing back into it!! Now we've just gotta hope everything works out so they can make the play-offs
10:14 PM
I thought David looked good considering hes been out and isn't match fit. We were way lucky with the ref not calling the PK against Cannon. Pheweeeee!! Sunday is going to be really really exciting game now. Go Galaxy!!!!

Syd hit the nail on the head. I found all the chatter about fitting Becks in, as well as the disappearing AP injury story, to be extremely fishy. Wondered if the Galaxy nitwits still couldn't bring themselves to tell ESPN/MLS "he's not fit enough" in the face of their final big Thursday night TV number (and last ratings boost opportunity of course).
After seeing Becks on the pitch, he did his best of course and the sparks were there, but he wasn't near enough to 100% yet. He was still ginger, and looked frustrated by that. I couldn't wait to see him back out there again, and we all know its the place he loves best, but this time it had to be no cost to his health!
Madness if we hear further harm has been done...I have ZERO faith in Becks' employers but I'll save my fury in hopes that recovery is still on course. (MANY HOPES)
Should have started with CONGRATS to the boys for keeping Angel out of the net, he was really going for that #20, and for keeping their hopes alive!
