Becks blogs again

david beckham back in training

Update - Becks attended the premiere of Tom Cruises new movie Lions for Lambs photos in the gallery.

David Beckham has updated his blog

Hi everyone,

I’d like to start this week’s blog by letting you know about a very important game that LA Galaxy are playing. The team will be playing against Hollywood United FC in a friendly game on November 4th to raise money for all those affected by the recent wildfires, which have devastated a large part of Southern California. So if you can come along it would be great to see you there to raise money for this very worthy cause.

Although the regular season has come to an end, I’m still busy working on my fitness and the Galaxy still have some friendly games coming up in Vancouver and Minnesota, which will help with my overall match fitness. I’m going to be working hard and I hope these games will lead to me being considered for England’s matches against Austria and Croatia, but of course its up to the manager to decide who he picks!

I’m writing this blog from St Mary’s in the Scilly Isles, where I’m currently filming a brand new adidas advert with Steven Gerrard. Although it’s a busy filming schedule, I’ve managed to meet some of the islanders, including the children and it was great to have a kick about with them. The islands are amazing and beautiful and I’d love to come back with the family for a holiday.
Anyway, I’d better get back to it

Speak to you soon
David

Back in training

The LA Galaxy will resume training today and the practice is open to the media so hopefully there will be a few nice photos online later. In the meantime here's a few photos of Becks from his last game.

Other News

The Telegraph reports that David Beckham would be the ideal candidate to head England's campaign to land the 2018 World Cup. Too true!

A little more from Becks visit to the Scilly Isles - It is thought that the concept of the new Adidas advert being filmed, is to show David Beckham and Steven Gerrard playing with kids from the 'smallest league' in the world, which the Scilly Isles is home too. I guess we'll have to wait to see the finished commercial before we know for sure, more online here.

Victoria Beckham has been on the publicity circuit and joked to Ryan Seacrest on his breakfast show that Becks likes to Vacuum in a pinny, more on this in The Sun. She also said he was very romantic and always sending cards and flowers. Awww! She appeared on Ellen as well and told some cute stories about the Beckham boys, read them here.

23 days to go! Australian Beckham fans including world famous swimmer Ian Thorpe, are counting down the days till David Beckham and the LA Galaxy arrive Down Under on Nov 23, more here. There are only 1000 tickets left of the 83,500 that went on sale!

Thanks Anna! I've got my fingers knees and toes crossed that McClaren calls him. These exhibitions aren't the perfect prep but I'm sure Becks can do the job!

Becks World Cup 2018 Ambassador - he would get my vote too + he already did wonders for the London 2012 Olympic bid.

Thanks a lot for the updates.

The Thorpedo! No doubt those last 1000 tix will go like hotcakes, lucky down-under devils having a crack at seeing Becks this year! I can't wait for 2008 MLS season. :D

What lucky little kids those Beckham boys are. Beyond having rich/famous parents, they have loving parents, and the resources that they can pursue soccer or stage careers if they want to, someday. The world's their oyster.

I heard the interview with the pinny bit and, much as I don't understand a great deal about Mrs B, this was clearly an "as IF he ever would!" remark. She also said seriously caring and supportive things about him in the same interview. But the one thing Becks has made clear is that he loves her sense of humor, so I guess he figures that if he gets it that's all that matters. He's certainly used to the papers taking things both of them say out of context, so maybe he has a different perspective than we do.

BTW, in the States pinnies are what subs wear on the bench, or players wear during practice scrimmages to distinguish the sides, so that's what I assumed she was referring to. Are they called the same thing elsewhere, or does the term mean apron? Anyone have a minute to offer me an English lesson?

Diane - A pinny worn when vacuuming is a pinafore apron in british english. As I said it was clearly a joke but as Syd and countless men on the Daily Mail and other sites have shown it is a joke that doesn't seem to go over so well with some men - just an observation I don't mean to be sexist :)

Thanks Melissa, it seems to work ok now :)

Galaxy23 I don't have a clue lol I didn't take it seriously as it hasn't come out through any even half-way reliable sources :)

I haven't been able to find any info on whether the charity match against Hollywood United will be televised but unfortunately it is looking like it won't be sorry.

I heard the interview it was just a joke, the host didn't even believe that he vacuumed. Not like tabloids or people posting on their sites need an excuse to be negative.

he he :) I agree, as long as David gets Victoria's humor and Ellen seem to get it too, I don't think anyone else's matters, they seem to be really good parents and the boys seem to be loving living in LA :) And the people of Scilly Isles sure got a treat and of course our David is gracious as always; any pics with both David and Stevie G. in them? thanks for all the updates Anna.
