Terry backs David Beckham
update - Back to the hat! Training report in english here.
John Terry, England captain, was interviewed on the BBC's Inside Sport last night and praised David Beckham as both a captain and a player, he was asked if David Beckham was too good to ignore [for the England national team] and he replied -
(Source) Yes, of course. He’s a fantastic player. That’s Steve McClaren’s decision to pick and drop players, but he’s still a world-class player.
He’d love to come back for his country and play.
Taking over from such an iconic captain as David Beckham was a tough act to follow. He changed the role of England captain in many ways.
But first and foremost he was a fantastic player and still is.
Real Madrid to appeal
As.com reports that Real Madrid will appeal the yellow card David Beckham received on Sunday. The club will dispute the card before the competition committee today. If that is unsuccessful they will make a further appeal on Thursday, details here. If the appeal is successful, David Beckham will be able to play against Sevilla. It would be the perfect birthday present and it would also be a fair outcome because the yellow card really wasn't justified as you will see in the clip of the incident that I've added above.Cicinho Thanks Becks
Cicinho has singled out David Beckham for thanks in an interview with AS (online here). Cicinho returned to the first team after a long absence due to injury and played very well on Sunday against Athletic. He said that Becks had spoken with him before the match, telling him that he could play his natural attacking game and that he would cover him. It is clear that Becks support meant a lot. Cicinho also said "It's incredible to share the wing with Beckham. He is simply spectacular. I have never seen anyone hit the ball so well. It will be a shame if he misses the match against Sevilla due to suspension because the booking he got in Bilbao was completely unfair." You can read all of Cicinho's interview in english on the Real Madrid official site. Finally The Sun has quite an interesting piece on all the houses that Posh and Becks have lived in over the years from Becks childhood home in Leytonstone through to their latest reported purchase.
