Becks and Brooklyn watch Arsenal
David Beckham and his son Brooklyn took in the Arsenal v Birmingham City match this afternoon. They had a great view of the action with seats right behind the Arsenal dug-out. Photos are in the gallery.Vote for Becks
The FA have opened voting for the 2007 England player of the year. Please vote for Becks here. You will need to register but it doesn't take too long and it's worth it to support Becks. Thanks to Ben for the heads up!Lennon learnt a lot from Becks
(source) Here's a quote from Aaron Lennon from today's Sun -Lennon said: “I was surprised when David came back into the team because the manager had more or less said he wasn’t going to use him.
“But it was the right decision because, in my opinion, he should never have been out of the squad in the first place. He showed that by creating a lot of England’s goals when he came back."
“He is such an important player for England. He’s got quality, experience and his free-kicks alone make him worthy of his place."
“He’s a different player to me. I rely on speed to get that yard of pace to cross. He uses his brain and movement."
“I learned so much from David just from training with him every day during the World Cup. So he definitely deserves to win his 100th cap next month as a reward for everything he has done for football in this country”
Even if that comes at Lennon’s expense?
“Well, maybe we can have half a game each.”
Other news
The Daily Mail reports that Becks might appear at the closing ceremony of the August 2008 Beijing Olympics to invite the world to the London Olympics in 2012. It is not yet confirmed but it's one to keep an eye out for closer to the time!
On a personal note, I wanted to let you know that I will be going travelling around the world for a year, very soon. I finally ran out of papers to fail and so that makes me a graduate :) I would like to thank everyone who has visited and supported the site so far and I hope you will continue to do so! I am handing it over to a very professional and capable webmaster, who I'm sure will take it from strength to strength.
I would like to make a special mention of those people who have gone above and beyond in their contributions and whose help and words have meant a lot to me over the last 18 months, Ben, Diane, notoriousmvp, Loredana, Samuel and Gabriel, Marie, Syd, Julie, Pru, Duyen Vo, Ruby and Lulu your kindness and support has been truly appreciated. Thank you and take care everyone!

Dear Anna,
Congratulations on your graduation!!! I wish you all the luck in the world, and lots of fun finding it during your travels.
I hope you are not tired of being thanked for the enormous amount of work you have put in here, along with the heart and soul and humor. You have done such a great job for David Beckham and for anyone who cares about his life and work (basically anyone who cares about life and football if you ask me!). But you have also made the site something more.
You already know that I think you have provided a public service by sorting truth from fiction all these months ;-) . But you've also built a little community of like-minded fans which has been lovely.
I've appreciated having someplace to come to share both frustration and fun, and I have enjoyed "meeting" your other guests as well. We've all visited another site or two and I'm sure we would all agree that yours is very special -- a testament to the host as much as to the subject.
So a few more thanks, and very, very, very best wishes to you!
Fondly,
Auntie D

Hi Loredana, I think it's just one vote per registration - I guess you could register more than once :)
Lulu I am going to Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Russia, Czech, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Netherland, England to begin with and a few other place too - I won't get there in time for Becks 100th cap which is a shame I'll be in China at that time but I plan on finding a bar and toasting him :)
Good article Diane - thanks for that :)
Thanks everyone for the kind words, I really don't know what to say - I'm glad you've enjoyed the site and I'll definitely be posting travel updates here in the comments when I get a chance *hugs* Anna
