Mr Beckham goes to Downing St

If that link doesn't work for you, try going to the sports page and watching the clip from there.(Source) David Beckham visited Downing St today and spent an hour with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. He spoke to the BBC's Nick Robinson on his way out and said Mr Brown was "a very good man, he's a man who's looking after our country and he's doing a very good job. I'm very proud to be here tonight."
He told the BBC Mr Brown was very interested in sport, including football, and also "doing a lot for my academy and also getting involved in schools around the country as well."
There has been speculation that Becks might become a World Cup ambassador for England's 2018 bid, but he would only say "we will have to see what the future holds".
Prime Minister Brown is scheduled to visit the David Beckham Academy on Thursday, to see how deprived children could be inspired by sport.

Update - The Daily Mail reports that Fabio Capello's trip to London Colney, the Arsenal training ground, to meet with Becks has been delayed for a few days as he is busy settling in to his new role. I'm sure he will watch and meet with all the players in contention for his first England squad in the near future.

We cross fingers. Ambassador for the 2018 World? We believe that David will represent his country (the visit to Brown, is the confirmation). Ambassador for the ManUnited, fantastic.Ma Fergusson would give approval?. I agree Loredana, Beckham would be a great ambassador for both the World Cup and Manchester United :) Hope Capello chooses Beckham for the World Cup qualifiers as well :) and he sure is busy; and for all the critics out there, they should point out that, this past year alone---Beckham has done more for his sport than any other sportsman out there :)

Loradena, it's nice to know that many people in Milan appreciate the photographs in the ads as they were intended. Just to show beauty of a man's body. There have been too many silly comments in the English speaking press and other web-sites. Thanks for the report from close by!
