Update on Beck's Trip to Sierra Leone

JustJared posted an article on David Beckham's trip to Sierra Leone. We have a few quotes from his time there:

"We can’t turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of young children who die every day in the developing world mostly from causes that are preventable,"

And...

"In Sierra Leone, one in four children dies before reaching their fifth birthday. It’s shocking and tragic, especially when the solutions are simple - things like vaccinations against measles or using a mosquito net to reduce the chance of getting malaria. Saving these children’s lives is a top priority for UNICEF and as an ambassador I hope I can help to draw attention to this issue across the world."

And also...

"Surely there is no reward more precious than saving the life of a child? Their futures remain in our hands."

Reuters also made some wonderful pics availble, they are in the gallery. Thanks to all the fans for this heads-up!

Thanks Franco, David is a good ambassador, he truly cares :) it is good that he brings attention to the suffering that the children of Sierra Leone endure.

Hi Katie.

No, certainly didn't NEED a headsup, but since the news with pictures got out while I was asleep, after I had already made my post for the previous day... it was helpful because I was able to make the post as soon as I woke up and update with the just released pics. Plus, so many people mentioned it in the comments, I thought it proper to thank them.
Thanks for visiting the site.
