After Dark Launches & Baldini to Assess Beckham Fitness
It's been an obnoxious day for Beckham gossip, so you might want to skip the papers and gossip sites! But as such, there's less substantial news than rumours, so I'll make it a brief update.
Note: I'm beginning my search for television coverage of the upcoming Dallas vs. Galaxy charity match on Saturday. If anyone knows of any broadcasts that may occur (often these charity matches go all-too unpublicised) comment & share the info with us!
After Dark Launches
David's new fragrance “After Dark” went on sale this week. For those who haven't heard what it's about, After Dark is a men's fragrance that's produced on a limited edition basis. It's being promoted with print and television advertising, so keep an eye out for commercials! Source
Kids Want to Be the Beckhams
A survey of schoolchildren has concluded most children want to be like David and Victoria:
A study by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) found 53 per cent of teachers say their pupils modelled themselves on the LA Galaxy footballer, with 30 per cent claiming school children aspire to be like his Spice Girl wife.
Of course, this is receiving heaps of criticism from those who feel they're unrealistic role models, so only read this source link if you're interested in a primarily negative point of view. Source
Capello to Assess Fitness
As previously reported, Fabio Capello will assess David's fitness for potential inclusion in the England squad for France during Saturday's game. However, Capello will not fly to Dallas to view Becks's performance in person, as he suggested might occur. His general manager Franco Baldini will be present to watch the game. Source

mls is doing a live feed of the game online, but thats it the game will not be televised. does anyone know what time beckham will be landing in dallas or how to find out im in the area and would love to greet him

I did not read the link as I don't like seeing the negative comments, but what those critics do not realize is kids want to be like David and Victoria because when they were kids they dreamed to be what they are now. They have reached their dreams and I think even surpassed it, so both of them serve as inspirations that if you set your mind to it and work hard then you would achieve your goals whatever they might be.

the LA Galaxy website also says that they will be showing the FC Dallas game online there as well. there is not a link up yet, but should be around the time of the match.

About Becks being role model for kids: just look at Beck's final year with Real Madrid. When he was dropped out of the squad of Real Madrid and England (both unfairly) at the same time, he did not complain a bit, but just kept on training hard and finally won the position back. This has gone beyond football; it is about how a man should behave and act when he is facing difficultis in life and being professional with your career. Also, in these a few years after he was kicked out from his beloved Man United, Becks has never said one single bad word about Man United and Alex Furgerson. He is really more than competent to be a role model for kids.
