David Beckham warns Chelsea to expect hairdryer treatment from Carlo Ancelotti
David Beckham has warned Chelsea that they can expect outbursts from Carlo Ancelotti similar to Sir Alex Ferguson’s infamous ‘hairdryer’ verbal attacks on players who do not perform.“Ancelotti has a great presence, a great aura about him — all the top managers have that,” the England midfielder said. “He is a low-key, private person. But there is another side to him. While I have never had the ‘hairdryer’ type treatment from him, I have seen it from him.”
Ancellotti, whom Beckham has been playing under at Milan, is expected to become the new Chelsea manager this summer following the end of Guus Hiddink’s temporary tenure.
“When he wants to get his point across, believe me, he does it in no uncertain terms,” Beckham, who returned to London to launch England’s bid to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup, added. “He is a manager who commands and demands respect.”
