Udinese 2 – 1 AC Milan, Goal III Update
Udinese 2 – 1 AC Milan
Apologies for misreading the schedule; I thought Milan were playing Udinese tomorrow. (It’s been a long few months of late nights and blurry eyes.) I would have had the links last night…
However, David was suspended for this game due to yellow card accumulation anyway. So for AC Milan fans I say “sorry” for not giving you the feeds, I endeavour to do so every time. For those who are just fans of David and watch primarily to see him play wherever he’s playing, I still say sorry, but I know that his not playing today takes a bit of the sting off it all. I’ll try to get some highlight footage tomorrow, good stuff should be out by then!
That said, Milan lost.
It would have been a pretty bad loss too had Ambrosini not pulled off a goal in the 90th minute! The mojo that was working so well for AC Milan in the weeks and months since David’s arrival seems to be waning a bit. Then again…he’s been either injured/out of form or, as was the case today, out for the games they’ve struggled with. Perhaps he’s becoming a lucky charm! They do seem to play better with him.
Unfortunately it’s a little charm too late. Milan definitely needed to win this game to keep any title hope alive. Inter Milan will win the Scudetto this year. But there is no shame in coming in second, especially in such a hotly contested race between rivals! Perhaps if David transfers after the MLS season, as is the long-standing rumour, he will help bring title glory back to AC Milan next year.
They’re telling soccer’s story
Human interest piece with a blurb about Becks:
Gwendolyn Oxenham hopped out of her car and ran up to the black Bentley in front of her, waving a DVD in the face of the very famous driver.“I play soccer,” she told a surprised David Beckham, who had been adjusting a car seat for his child. “Can you watch this?”
Beckham just smiled and nodded and took the DVD.
That incident, last October in Los Angeles after a Galaxy game, only scratches the surface of the dizzying array of encounters that Oxenham and her fiance have had hopping several continents over the last 20 months.

And I’m not even sure what to say about this one, except to laugh.
Reuters resident Trekkies Kevin Fylan and Alison Wildey had a bash at a soccer version but please come up with your own ideas in the comments below.1. David Beckham as Kirk (if not John Terry or Steven Gerrard)
