David’s Latest Blog

Hi everyone,

Well, we had a moral boosting win on Saturday against Toronto FC and we’re still in with a great chance of securing a playoff place. We’re now only two points behind Houston Dynamo, who are top, with a game in hand so it’s up to us to keep going and try to win the Western Conference if we can. I was fortunate enough to score at the weekend and had a hand in our other goal, which is always a great feeling. We’ve four matches left now, and of those three are against the top teams in the standings – Columbus Crew, Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo, so we know that we’ve got probably the toughest run in of any MLS club. It’s up to us to be positive, though. We know we can beat any side on our day, we just have to make sure we play as we know we can and hopefully we’ll get our reward.
That’s all for now

Injured Beckham might miss Saturday’s Galaxy game in Columbus

David Beckham did not travel with the Galaxy when it left for Columbus today and is likely to miss Saturday afternoon’s game against the Crew in Ohio.

A spokesman for the English midfielder said Beckham had taken “a knock on his Achilles” tendon and was receiving treatment for the injury, which he described as minor.

The player will be evaluated on Friday, the spokesman said, after which a decision will be made on whether Beckham will fly to join the team in Columbus. Source

Bowl it like Beckham? Galaxy tries a new sport

The Los Angeles players and coaches, who left today for Saturday’s game at the Columbus Crew, took time out to take part in an evening of bowling at the Lucky Strike Lanes in Torrance as part of the Galaxy’s third corporate partner appreciation night.

Word has filtered back that defender Gregg Berhalter threw a strike with his first ball, that goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts wouldn’t have thrown one if he stayed until next Tuesday and that David Beckham’s ability to bend it with his hand did not match his ability to do so with his foot.

Must have been those rented bowling shoes. Source
