Today England take on Slovenia in a friendly before jumping back into their WC 2010 qualifers later this week. Kickoff is 12.30pm ET.

I was having trouble locating some links for this so I waited til close to match time. You should have no problems finding a way to watch it now. :)

David’s Latest Blog

Hi everybody,

Well, we completed the SuperClasico with a win, which is a great feeling as we not only won the local derby against Chivas USA, but the victory also keeps us right up there in the hunt for a playoff place. We slipped up a few weeks ago against the Seattle Sounders, but the great thing about the team at the moment is that we can put results like that behind us quickly and get back to winning ways in the following game, which stands us in great stead in the run in.
Saturday’s match was also good for me personally as I scored my first MLS goal of the season. It’s always great to score, of course, but to get a winning goal in such an important game was a fantastic feeling.
I’m with the England squad now for the games against Slovenia and Croatia. The first one is a friendly match on Saturday, but if we win our World Cup qualifying match against Croatia at Wembley next Wednesday, we’ll qualify for next year’s World Cup in South Africa, so we’ve a very important match coming up.

The good players now coming through grew up watching Premier League and Spanish teams touring here. I saw Real Madrid play DC United two weeks ago. Boys dream of being footballers and girls want to be teachers when they grow up.

These were the top two ideal occupations workers aged over 18 in the UK had when they were kids.

But despite these career hopes just 12% of the population achieve their goal, according to research from the Careers Advice Service.

Becoming a footballer, inspired by stars such as David Beckham and Stevie Gerrard, was top choice for 18% of boys. Keep reading
