“Choking” Incident
Also unfortunately a huge to-do has erupted over an alleged “choking” incident wherein Becks supposedly went to strangle Dallas’s Daniel Hernandez. I’m going to include a video clip of the incident here. To *me*, it looks as if he put his hand on the side of Daniel’s neck and shoulder to try to pull him away from Landon Donovan (who was the one David was defending). When he initially realizes he’s got his hand too close to Daniel’s neck he changes the placement of his hand/arm and pulls him away by the shoulder. I don’t see any “choking” whatsoever. Feel free to leave a comment & share what you see in the video. The media’s having a field day with this so it’s yet another storm we’ll have to ride out!

Los Angeles Galaxy’s marquee player David Beckham has allegedly been accused of strangling Dallas player Daniel Hernandez, when the two sides met on the weekend.

According to TMW and Repubblica.it, Beckham allegedly put his hands around the neck of Hernandez, in an altercation that happened between both teams.

The incident could cost the superstar some game time for the Galaxy, as well as in his hip-pocket, as a fine could be given to him by the US Football Federation. Keep reading

This is more of a case of the media taking a joke and making a bigger deal out of it than it should be, but it’s being reported so I’m reporting it to you. Take it with a grain of salt. :)

MICHEL SALGADO will make a cheeky attempt to lure David Beckham to join him at Blackburn.

The pair forged a close friendship during their time at Real Madrid and have stayed in touch since leaving the Bernabeu.

LA Galaxy star Becks is known to want a return to Europe in January to cement his place in the England World Cup squad.

And Spaniard Salgado, 33, said: “David and I are still friends. He asked me all about my new club.

“Could I get David to Blackburn? Of course I’ll have to speak with him.

“The problem might be we have to collect money from the players to pay his wages.” Source

David Beckham visits patients at Children’s Hospital

LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham brightened up the day of hundreds of patients at Children’s Hospital of Orange County with a visit early Tuesday morning. Beckham was at the Santa Ana-located medical facility for a fundraiser being hosted by 102.7 KIIS-FM, one of LA’s more popular music stations.

While Beckham’s first order of business was to do an on-air interview with host Ryan Seacrest, prior to his arrival Beckham called ahead and asked the popular American Idol host if he wanted anything from Starbucks.

“Not only a good looking guy, successful guy and an athlete, but also courteous,” Seacrest said on air. “(Beckham) calls and asks us what we want from Starbucks.” [...]

“Nothing compares to doing things like this,” Beckham said. “It’s hard to see where they how they get their strength, but kids are stronger than you think and to see that is incredible. This is what I enjoy doing, this is what I love doing and it’s a big passion of mine. It’s been a great morning.”

After doing more interviews, Beckham posed for photos and signed autographs for members of the hospital’s staff before leaving. Keep reading & additional article here
