AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo believes Manchester United legend David Beckham is still one of the best players in the world and is tailor made for their Champions League date with his former club. The Italian international suggests Beckham is already relishing his long-awaited return to Old Trafford for their upcoming Champions League tie, and admitted he would not be surprised if Beckham scored the winner against Manchester United. Such is his affinity for his former club, Pirlo believes Beckham would not celebrate if he scored against Manchester United.

Pirlo told the People: “You could see David coming on and scoring the winning free-kick at Old Trafford with minutes to go, that’s the sort of mentality the guy has.”

“But he also has the class not to celebrate.”

“Knowing David, if he scores in Manchester I can almost guarantee he wouldn’t celebrate.”
